I'm Coming Out

It's time I came out and told the truth. I'm coming out.
I do not like Abba.

I do not like U2.

I do not like Crowded House.

I certainly do not.

The thought of having to listen to any of the above makes me fearful for my sanity. The thought of any of the above coming on the radio or the discotheque makes me shudder. If someone puts the CD on at their house, I have to leave immediately.

Surely I am not alone. I've sent Matt into a tailspin and he can't believe I didn't declare my disdain for U2 and Crowded House prior to our marriage vows. Apparently he's not so concerned about Agnetha.

Tell me you don't like them. You know it's the truth.

I haven't really thought about it, so I can't say that I hate them (although the foil is a bit eewy). I don't really listen to any of them.
I will however come out on a couple of things that I don't like...
1. wall decals, I can't stand them!
2. that "Keep calm and carry on" quote. I understand the history behind it but I find the odd freak out moment quite necessary :)

OK, I can kind of understand Abba. Maybe U2. But the Crowdies??

Next you'll be telling us you don't like kittens, blue skies and fairy floss.

That is so bad!

I'll see your U2 and raise you an INXS.

I'm with you!

Look, I can take 'em or leave 'em. All of them. Mainstream pfaff.

But I just wanted to say how totally, totally gorgeous your new profile pic is. Whoa Mama!

I can't agree with you, but I do want to add how much I hate the fact that apparently if you are black and sing, you are automatically filed under the r'n'b genre. Real r'n'b (that is rhythm and blues) is Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and the like. Beyonce and Kanye are pop singers, not r'n'b. Ok, I'm done now.

Thank goodness. I saw the picture *shudder* and thought you were going to confess your love.
Well I don't like Queen. There I've said it.
Abba are frightful, Bono is a pain in the ass, I dont mind the house so much.

I can handle abba, but the other 2 bore me to tears

OK, so I may have a soft spot for ABBA (I have been known to rock some of their tunes at karaoke) but I am right there with you on the U2 front sista! No band more annoying. xx

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I LOVE ABBA! Say you don't mean it. Next you'll be saying you don't like Elton John. Or Billy Joel. Or Queen. Do you think I'm stuck in the 80's? hmmm. Can't be, coz I love lots of modern stuff. Got a soft spot for Mozart too. But U2? Boring. And Bono? Yuk.

Abba and U2, I can totally see your point. But I do love Crowded House.

Tom Cruise, I can't stand him though.

I'm not a big fan of U2 either but Crowdies? Come on! and really everyone is a closet abba fan so I don't believe a word of it - even if you hated the music that alfoil shot had to turn you around ;)

I hear you on U2,
but cannot get over ABBA and Crowded House. What's not to love?
xo

Me either. Though with a little tipple can belt out the words to most ABBA tunes and spin wildly like I'm havin' a wild time - well it is, at the time.

Oh dear..... ABBA makes my ears bleed. Dreadful music !!

I do not like Crowded House. All the songs sounds exactly the same.

I do not like ABBA....but I love Mamma Mia. Very strange.

U2 get on my nerves but I do like With or Without You.

And my husband is so happy because I also do not like Bryan Adams. We think if we were captured by the enemy and they played Bryan Adams to us, we would be dead by morning.

I love all music!! Except offensive rap and stuff, but everything has its place. Country is awesome, folk and indie too.

I love U2, Crowded House, INXS and Abba!

So I won't see you at the U2 show then ;)

Queen and Kiss - really can not stand at all. Gotta love Abba on a saturday night, few champers down, dance floor, bad lighting...hilarious stuff.
U2 had some moments, went to the last concert and left early had paid to hear music, not get bashed around the head with images of starving people from around the world, I can see that on the news thanks Bono.

Love how everyone has come out and been totally honest. Usually this sort of post only gets responses from those who agree. I've always liked ABBA - it used to be played on the school bus when I was in high school but no idea why anyone ever wanted BayCityRollers or Sherbet. The others I don't even know (!) I've heard of Mozart though and Paganini. O and Michael Buble and Coldplay though I don't actually know if I like them either. Never was good at remembering who sang what or had which hairstyle, etc. Cherrie

ABBA!! How can anyone possibly not love the ABBA - especially dressed like that? C'mon Lexi, dressed like that??

Bleh to the rest, although my partner lives for U2 so don't let him hear me say that...

Oh god, they're all hideous. (U2 were okay before 1984, but that's a long time ago.) Please add to that list the 'Grease' soundtrack. Nothing is more guaranteed to make me throw up a little in the back of my throat. Except perhaps the Wiggles.
