My Place and Yours:: Bedside

I was lucky enough to be Theme Queen for this week's My Place and Yours. I chose bedside. Probably not a wise move on my behalf because my bedside is a breeding ground for unread reading matter and a petri dish of sorts for dust. Dust! (Marjorie Dawes can come and eat at my bedside if she likes?)

It must be told that I am pedantic about my bedtime regime. I can not go to sleep without applying lip balm (and this comes in the form of my favourite non-lip balm product Lansinoh - perfect for cracked nipples AND lip balm) and my L'Occitane hand cream. Will not go to sleep without them. You might think I'm crazy, and quite frankly, I will have to agree with you.

Other bedside matter, Tiny's 'radio' or 'phone' (as the Doctor calls it) because I can NEVER hear her through the walls), some pretty books, a hair piece made by Nan and a Moleskin notebook and pen. Because all the best thoughts come in the darkness.

What you don't see is a pile of ever-changing magazines. My favourite of them all is Australian Country Style. Every single month, I snuggle into bed and nights on end, devour each and every page. Such a dreamy magazine.

Oh, love that handcream - on my bedside also.

And a great theme. I really should get back into this blogging caper...

Can NOT go to sleep without lip gloss either. My lip gloss is even sadder than yours though: I have vaseline. Lansinoh is the wonder cream for breastfeeders. I also have a lip gloss in my handbag, my tap bag and in the arm rests in the front doors of my car. I must NEVER have dry lips. NEVER!

Actually come to think of it, where the hell was my lip balm when I took the shot of my bedside table? Because I have to agree - it's a MUST!

Would love to hear more about the book there ... is it harmonious home?

oh and excellent theme my dear, excellent.

Thanks for this weeks theme! I'm prone to using Lansinoh as lip balm too... and the bedtime routine. Oh and the magazines stashed in the bedside table too!

i wasn't brave enough to show my 27 year old radio and all the aspirational /unread books and the newspapers and the dust....but your theme did give me the opportunity to share my golden bed so thanks for that, its a great meme....theres no better way to get to know someone than having a good nosey around their house

Great post! (and great choice theme queen). I giggled when I read it, as we have a similar lip balm routine, but I've never thought of lansinoh! What a great idea.

THanks for the great theme Lexi. I love reading mags in bed and pretty or inspiring books, although sometimes they get me excited and inspired and wake me up, which is sort of not the point.

Thanks for the lovely theme this week. first time I've taken part in the meme.
I too love reading a magazine or book in bed at night, but my creams are hidden away in a drawer!

Aw. Look at you. You have nice stuff. I likey. A very well edited pile of books that is, too. And I'm loving the handcream/lipbalm tale. I think that's so cute. Like tucking yourself in, in a beauty regimen kind of way. Thanks for being our Queen, Lexi! Your bedside is ace. xx

Thanks for the theme! Luckily I am in cleaning mode and my bedside was more presentable than usual.

I think hand cream ought to go into my bedtime routine as well. Good tip.

Thanks for choosing such a great theme.
Oooh... Lansinoh! It was a very dear friend to me during some very dark moments as a new mama!!
I also like to have a stash of mags near the bed. I like to have a quick flick through and look over a couple of snippets before bed - I find that I'm just too tired to read a book these days!

great theme! i too used Lansinoh and not always for its intended purpose. But lip balm and hand cream are bedside essentials. we won't think you're crazy when you have kissable lips and soft lovely hands when we're 90!

Thank you for the great theme PMM, it was fun! I really love the picture of you and your hubby with the doily and flower booch beside, very pretty.

Right with you on the notebook and pen for those ideas in the darkness. Only thing is I seem prone to a sort of hallucinogenic slumber. So far the Mr has escaped being scrawled over. Although last night I did elbow him in the eye.

Very cool... though you have just made me realise if I had to take a pic of my bedside, what a messy pic it would be! Must tidy bedroom soon!
