I must have entered some sort of twilight zone since 2004, just prior to the birth of my first child, who is subsequently now three and a bit.. I've never printed any of my digital prints. Not one single photo. Never. Ever. Ever.
I need a rap over the knuckles. I need a spanking. I need some time out. I need an intervention.
Luckily I made the confession to one of my good friends yesterday. She's always on top of her photos (well not on top of them, but you know what I'm saying!), always perfectly cataloguing them, printing them, perfect - I wish I was like that. But alas, I am not, and now I have four years worth of pictures either sitting on my computer or burnt onto CDs.. Can you see where this is going?
Well once my little dude spilt milk on my laptop. I almost lost the lot - RIP my beautiful laptop - you served me well. But imagine if I had lost all of those photos!? All of those precious baby photos. But do you think I learnt my lesson? Not so much. I got a new computer, and just kept adding to my bazillion mega-mega-ultra-mega bytes worth of pixels.
Anyway, my friend, she put me onto something wild. I'm sure everyone already does this. But for me, this is genius. This is the invention I'd put just after sliced bread.. Ever since I got home yesterday from seeing my friend, I've been uploading pics to here in a bid to get on top of my photographic demise. I'm already up to 440 photos, given Rumpelstiltskin my first born, taken out six personal loans and sold my soul to pay for it. Nah, it's only 15c per print, is that cheap or what?!
Now if I can just get all my photos printed and organised before we have another baby (don't get excited, I'm certainly not up the duff, I'm just planning - be a witness - probably the only time ever!), I might have our wedding album done, our first and second born's albums up and running. Just look at me now.

Shamefully, I've been the same. We have thousands of photos dating back years before the kids were even born. There's overseas trips, family weddings (including our own), baby nephews and nieces and then the pictorial life histories of our own boys. I'd better follow your link ...
I only recently came into the electronic age, until a few months ago I still had film (heaven forbid). I was having the discussion with Glen on the merits of 3 bubbas just yesterday. He seemed to think that maybe I needed psychiatric help.
I like to print out photos and put them little mini photo albums of events and give them to the eventee as gifts, because no-one ever prints photos these days.
I made a wedding album for both of my sisters as gifts because they never got around to it....but I just don't seem to have time to make one for me!
Now, that's funny, we were just discussing the same thing the other day. It's been almost 4 years since we printed one single photo, and we are beginning to think we ought. But where do you put all the albums in a house filled with books and fabric???
ah, snapfish - it's a lifesaver; or should I say photosaver :)
Snapfish and ofoto.com have served me for many years now. I have to remind myself to upload, download, print, etc. Glad you've gotten motivated. I need to do the same with backing up my mac!
I feel so guilty...I keep all of my pics on my computer or snapfish, or shutterfly, or flickr...but have no albums...I am a bad, bad, mom...maybe we should make a pact to do it together?
I was so good when I first got my digital camera. I still printed & kept the album up. But now I'm WAY behind. I'm thinking that I'm going to get a couple of digital photo frames (one portait & one landscape) & just have them flicking through.
I am terrible with printing my photos too. The only time I ever do it is after MIL has hassled me for a month or so to print her some.
Which reminds me....
You probably take about a thousand photos a month like me which makes it extra huge.
wow!! this is like reading about my life..my reality!
i had a computer virus a few weeks back and totally freaked out that i was going to lose ALL my photos...photos that i have never printed - they've been sitting on my computer for months, years!!! eeekkk im so thankful they are safe...
