Beezus and Ramona: The Film

When I was small I used to love reading. A-novel-a-weekend sort of book lovin'.

I was pretty stoked to discover that one of my all time favourites is being made into a film. Beezus and Ramona - set for release March 2010 - gives you plenty of time to pop your corn.

Beverley Cleary was one of my favourite authors.

Another of my favourite childhood books was 'Bridge to Terabithia' - and given my love for Zooey Deschanel, I loved watching this film as well. It's one of those books that stays with you.

What other books did you read when you were small that you loved?

I really loved 'Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret' by Judy Blume - and all of her other books.

I loved Ramona so much.

I've got so many "shaper" books from when I was smaller but the standouts... The Silver Sword, The Outsiders, The Deserted Cottage, Whispering in The Wind & The Wickedest Witch in The World.

Oh yeah! I was a book a day kinda gal too. I longed for school holidays when I could read all day. Anne of GG, any Enid Blyton I could get my hands on, Trixie Belden. I hope Missy has my love of books. I have boxes of them stashed away for her and the rooster too. What boy wouldn't love secret 7 and famous 5?

didn't meet ramona in my bookworm travels sadly but i loved judy blume, shortly followed by the shocking 'go ask alice'. in the earlier years it was all horsey books like the silver brumby series & british classic girls books inherited from mum like famous five, faraway tree, the lion the witch and the wardrobe. ronald dahl was ace, can't wait to re-discover them when the boys are ready.

Oh gosh - the memories! I adored 'Bridge to Terabithia' (sob sob!), and I used to spend hours alone in the pine forest opposite our house, pretending I was in Terabithia too. I have been reluctant to watch the movie in case it didn't live up to the book, but you say it was OK?

I also read Beverley Cleary and Judy Blume when I was little too.... I'd completely forgotten about them until now.

Thanks for the memories!

I had a moment like this in the video shop, when I saw Noel Streatfields Ballet Shoes has been made into a movie.

Sweet memories. I still think about calling a daughter Petrova.

I loved Ramona to. So many other old friends... The Outsiders, The Borrowers, The Pinballs...Harriet The Spy...

Remember Paul Zindel: My Darling, My Hamburger?

It's so fun to think about passing them on.
