But We Didn't Find A Circus

So we ran away. We're up visiting my Mum and Dad and it feels so good. Country air. Freezing cold nights, chilly mornings, so many cups of tea. The smalls playing in the dirt. Op shops. Cups of tea! Cake! Lights! Camera! Lions.

I've hidden my camera at home so well I can't find it. I always seem to do that. I put things in 'special' places. So 'special' they're soon forgotten. Aye aye aye.

Thanks for all the kind comments. We're all good. I'm giving the first half of July the bird, but the rest is pretty darn good. I made an ace pear butter cake from here, and if you have it - do it, it's totally delightful.

So no photos today. But you'll be ok, won't you? Meditate on the cake. Trust me, it's worth it.

Glad you've given ugly July the boot and run to places to make new July memories. You and your smalls have fun.

Wise woman. If happy doesn't come to you, then you should go to happy!

Oh hooray Lex. Glad you got yourself & your smalls out of town. Sometimes putting a few miles between yourself & "life" makes a huge difference.

Hooray for a trip to the country. Tea and cake, cake and tea, all sounds very wise to me. Ha, you didn't know I was an accomplished poet did you ? Hope you have a lovely invigorating break, we've all missed you. x

Aw. Your mum'll look after you. And your dad too. Hugs to you all and thinking of you and drink heaps of tea and eat heaps of cake and things will get better, they will, they will.

welcome back. glad things are on the improve.

bad times really are bad, but they do give us perspective when things are good. life is such a strange place sometimes and full of such great high and such terrible lows. I am sorry you had to have so much of the latter all at once!

Nice one Lexi. I have just indulged in a spot of Mum and Dad visiting myself (which also, incidently included a spot of op-shopping - $30 for an art deco bookshelf? I was all over it).

And all week I have been dreaming of getting my hands on a copy of apples for jam and then boom! There's your link. I'm taking it as a sign ;)
