Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D - Reader Giveaway

This is a sponsored post.

Last year, watching the Doctor at his end of year school concert was pretty darn emotional. As his mama, I have been through everything with him – and I love who he is becoming. He’s kind of shy (sometimes) – and totally clever, funny, and very cheeky. He is so earnest – and that pulls at my heart strings.

As the finale, the whole school sang Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’. I know I sound like a complete cheeseburger, but I remember getting a lump in my throat – and something must have flown into both of my eyes – simultaneously.

We’d successfully navigated our way through the first year of school. It was hard – there was the distance I felt from being a working mother, coupled with the spate of bullying, not to mention the epic journey that is the first year of school.

It wasn’t how I’d dreamt it, but the Doctor had persevered and gotten through that year.

It’s apt that Katy Perry’s ‘Part of Me’ comes out these school holidays. It’s a glimpse into her life – how she worked hard to be where she is today. Following her dreams, and never letting her individuality waver.

I’ve seen her interviewed and have to say she comes across as such a positive and upbeat person – I think it would be difficult not to like her.

If you’d like a chance to win 1 of 5 double passes to take your kids to see Katy Perry: Part of Me in 3D these school holidays, all you have to do is answer this simple question in under 25 words:

Come on, spill. What’s your favourite Katy Perry song?

Lexi! You sweetheart! I can top that. I cried watching Chipmunks 3 - Chipwrecked when those little annoying chipmunks saying "Firework" at the end of the movie. I was mostly relieved the movie was over, but something struck a chord in my heart.

Katy Perry is one of Abi's favourite singers. We like Firework and California Girls the most.

She is pretty adorable in real life, isn't she. I'm kinda glad she didn't get up duffer with Russel Brand's sperm...

xx

Teenage Dream. Because even though Carrie Bradshaw got it into our heads that we need grandiose romantic gestures, Kay reminds us that sometimes nothing better than acting like a horny teenager.

Safely, and with someone you love, obviously.

My youngest is on a KP binge. He declared over the weekend he might marry a "California girl". I think Fireworks is my favorite- Madagascar 3 may have something to do with that!

Firework. I actually know all the words ( and with a six-week-old baby, I'm taking that as proof I still have a memory.) We'll pretend it's a song with lots of thematic and narrative content.

Firework is my favourite song because it reminds me of my dear little kids and their battle with autism.
Every word touches my heart.
"you don't have to feel like a waste of space, you're original and cannot be replaced"
Exactly Katy. Exactly.

I'd say 'Firework' too because I love a power ballad that really lets me belt it out, even though little Teddy has taken to begging me 'PLEASE don't sing, Mummy.' Hmmph. Everyones a critic.

I'm a Fireworks tragic, my 7.5 yr old and I sing it nearly every morning in the last 5 minute of our drive to school. We say good bye to each other in fabulous moods all ready for a great day. Well that's the theory and it seems to be a great remedy for any of the tears that were shed before leaving home. We've had some 'issues' this year and I'm trying to find every little positive moment we can grab hold of together. Cheeseballs stuff, but we love it :)

how could a mother not cry while watching her child perform? I cried in the end of year ballet concert. I blubbered!

Firework- I actually get a rush every time I hear that song, she sings it with such passion. :)

Even though I totally do a mean acoustic cover version of Last Friday Night, I would have to say my very favourite Katy Perry song is Firework.

Because even totally hetero menfolk need a feelgood anthem sometimes.

I have quite a few Katy Perry tracks on my running play list. I love them. My current favorite is 'The one that got away' closely followed by 'Wide awake'. Rachel x

Well, although musically it's not my favourite, but in general (for smile factor) I kissed a Girl would have to be my top pick.
How could it not be when everytime it comes on the radio, my tween (11yrs) starts singing along & I say "Really? You kissed a girl?" and then I watch as her brain ticks over and she realises what she's singing & she goes "Eeewwww! Oh Mum! You're Annooooying!!!" :D
Puts a smile on my dial every time.

I love California Gurls! I was pregnant when ut came out and everytime it came on my now 2 1/2 yr old son would go crazy in my belly! I like to think he was having a little dance and now we both groove to it & sing together when it comes on:)

I took my daughter to see Brave last weekend and the trailer for Katy Perry: Part of Me came on. I rolled my eyes, but by the end I was a bit teary and had a new found admiration for Katy. No one is more surprised than me that I'd actually love to see this film! My fave song of hers is 'Teenage Dream' - I used to sing it loud in the car last year while I was pregnant, and my daughter would kick me hard every time!
