Golden Globes 2015: Viola Davis, Claire Danes, Rosamund Pike, Julianne Moore etc

Viola Davis: Lovely in red, simple, stylish, sophisticated. But is that a Swatch? (note to self: wear your glasses when you're looking at fashion photos).

Claire Danes: Call me crazy but this Valentino is my FAVOURITE because it's bold, and it's unpredictable and she's a risk taker merely for wearing something strong and graphic. BIG tick from me. (Which reminds me, I need to flea the cat.)

Rosamund Pike: The bustier reminds me of a motorbike's handlebars. Vera Wang. Wtf. In fact it reminded me of the below outfit from this song. True story. If only she took such a risk I'd have more to write about right now. Sigh.

Tina Fey: Do you think she has a hoop under that skirt? I'm distracted and this is all I can think of. How would she sit down with a hoop skirt? How does one go to the bathroom? How does one even get in the cubicle? These are the questions that plague my mind. And like sands through the hourglass, these are the days of my lives. Well that didn't make sense, but whatevs.

Emily Blunt: Another of my favourites - no one can touch her, she's just pretty well my dream girl. Swoon.

Julianne Moore: Speaking of total babes of babe town, Julianne Moore - this has hit it out of the ballpark. Part mermaid, part disco ball - completely awesome. I LOVE this! This is how the red carpet should be.

Kate Hudson: I just really think Donatella could do better than rehashing Liz Hurley's dress from 21 years ago. Come on DonDons, give us something fresh and new. I don't want to see Kate's cans.

Lena Dunham: You, me and everyone we know knows I love Lena, but I'm not completely in this dress. Which is good because Lena is wearing it and if there were two of it, I don't know how we would sit down.

Amy Adams: Traditionally I have loved Amy's red carpet record, I love her hair, I love the frock, but I still have a strong desire for sequins. Someone - give me sequins before it's too late.

Julia Louis Dreyfus: Wow she looks STOKED to be there.

Naomi Watts: Cool, calm, sophisticated - I do love Naomi in this understated canary yellow frock. And at least she went with colour. What's with all the white on the red carpet? An homage to the Danish flag?

Anna Kendrick: Anna. Anna. Anna. I love Anna. The prettiest, frothiest perfection - she shows us how it could and should be done - I love this.

Lupita Nyong'o: Ok - well let me be indecisive for just a second. If I was on the red carpet, it would be a toss up between this and Claire Danes. Both are fabulous, make a statement, glamour. And this - well she looks beautiful. What can I say?

Jessica Chastain: Red heads on the red carpet - it's a match made in fashion heaven. But this dress looks more like Las Vegas casino than Golden Globes. Or even Casino Barbie. Me no likey.

Emma Stone: Speaking of red heads, Emma Stone - cool and classic, this pretty well takes the cake for rocking the red carpet. I love it. Fresh and young, yes she owns it.

Golden Globes 2015: Kelly Osbourne, Katherine Heigl, Salma Hayek etc

Let's get straight into it because:
a) I have to go to bed at some stage
b) there's not much to say

From left to right, without further adieu, et voila, bon appetit - let's go shoppers!

Kelly Osbourne: lilac and indigo are pretty well heaven for me, so I love, love love this.

Kate Cassidy: Angelina Jolie called. She wants her leg back.

Katherine Heigl: Form-fitting, inky blue and fabulous - I really love the chic simplicity of this.

CZJ: Feels like Madame Tussaud's wax museum has been shipped in. Will the real CZJ please stand up? And maybe move around a little so we know you're real.

Keira Knightley: Crumbs. Keira is one of my all-time favourites, but here in Chanel she looks like she just lost her little lamb.

Helen Mirren: Half the drama and glamour of the red carpet in one simple look - Helen Mirren nails the red carpet and shows everyone how it's done.

Melissa McCarthy: I love, love, love this classic black and white look - and that sheer pussy bow is pretty well magic for me. And she smiles. SHE SMILES PEOPLE! Loving.

Maggie G: It's long documented how much I love Maggie G, but girlfriend - wear a flipping necklace, something over the top, camp and fabulous. It's the red carpet, you could even wear a necklace made out of al-foil. I don't care, just give me some eye candy.

Alison Williams: Did you know that she's also a CIA agent? She's showing how camouflage is done best.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum: Apparently a pickpocket swept through the red carpet and stole everyone's sparkly jewellery. Because - where are the sparkles??

Salma Hayek: I say YES YOU CAN - because she did, and she is, and she was. This is all that. And then some. And a bit more.

Katie Holmes: Looks like someone couldn't wait to wear the Scientology curtains on the red carpet.

Golden Globes:: Pregnant & Beautiful

Despite what the critics are saying, I think Drew Barrymore in Marchesa looks so wonderful. In my book, there's no more beauty than a pregnant woman's belly. Sigh. This is pretty near perfect, she looks so happy, content and radiant.
Kerry Washington always, always looks immaculate. This custom Balenciaga is the perfect frock to show off her blossoming belly.
Aye carumba Olivia Wilde. You look gorgeous. And also like a python that just ate a mouse. But I like it. I am a massive sequins fan (as any of my family and friends would know), and this just takes my breath away. And the mouse's.

Golden Globes:: Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon, Julie Delpy, Helen Mirren, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock and Emma Roberts

Amy Adams - I am a fan. But this dress reminds me of blood platelets, and I don't really want to think about blood platelets when I'm watching the Golden Globes. Valentino can do no wrong, and I guess if it makes me donate blood - then everyone's winning.

Yawn. Is it that time already Malibu Barbie? Gee whiz. I have to go to bed soon.

This is how the red carpet is done and won. Ladies, I give you Julie Delpy.
And Helen Mirren - magic. This is so, so beautiful. Mirren always looks gorgeous, and this colour is a nice change from the neutrals she usually wears. I love a little colour. Whatever tipped you off?
Just after the ceremony Julia Roberts had to go to Officeworks to top up the stationery supply. It was shame she was double booked, but busy times people calls for a little wardrobe ingenuity.
I want to like this, but it's playing tricks on my eyes and I keep thinking Sandy, that your waist is the size of my wrist, and I feel awfully uncomfortable. Then my eyes can see the truth and I feel ok. And then they forget and your waist shrinks again. Unless you're Escher, you can't wear this again.
Emma Roberts - I say yes! Simple and chic, this is a beautiful look and those earrings are the perfect touch. Like THE perfect touch.

Golden Globes:: Naomi Watts, Elisabeth Moss, Michelle Dockery, Hayden Panettiere

To be completely fair - Naomi Watts in Tom Ford looks lovely. If not a little Sharon Stone, a little beige, a little too safe. And I can see the woman in black behind her has to agree with me. Live a little Naomi. You look lovely, but also a bit like a latte.

Elisabeth Moss. Elisabeth Moss. Elisabeth Moss. I don't know what it is, but this dress makes me think of an arachnid's skeleton. It's a little creepy.
Michelle Dockery - I think this is probably my favourite of the day. I know it's a neutral, and traditionally, I am not into neutrals because I look like a zombie myself in them, but this is SO darn pretty, I can't help but do some high kicks and want to squeeze myself into it. And then not be able to do the zip up. But that's a whole other story.
I only have two words for this: Neenish Tart.

Golden Globes: Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Watson, Some Bird in a Blue Dress

Be still my beating heart. The girl has sass, and I adore her for it. Jennifer Lawrence would look beautiful in a wet paper bag, except, well Christian Dior haven't really done her many favours here. I feel like she's wrapped a fitted bed sheet around her torso and they've got some removalist straps and secured it and called it a day. I love the girl, but this dress is just a bit meh.
Emma Watson shook off the shackles of a school uniform and grew into this incredible creature. Well she was always gorgeous, but the girl has style. And colour. And sigh - Hermione grew up. Classically beautiful she never puts a foot wrong.

But... then... uh?? I'm not sure about this. Did they run out of fabric because they were making this frock simultaneously?!?!

Which BTW is totally one of my favourite frocks on the red carpet. It's all super-hero and super awesome with that cape!  Those shoes in the back left though, well they are not red carpet worthy. What the funk!?

I actually do not know who this is. Guilty as charged. What happened is, I turned 30 a few years ago, and I let old take over my body and my mind. Either that or I need an NW subscription stat!

Despite not knowing who this is, I really, really love this dress. The blue, the cut of her jib, the shoe, everything. I could kiss it. I even like her regrowth. This is something I would wear to the White House. Maybe not on the red carpet though. I don't know. I am so confused right now.

Golden Globes 2014:: Lena Dunham, Zooey Deschanel, Cate Blanchett

Yes Lena, YES!! I love this beautiful canary confection by Zac Posen. It's bold, simple, elegant, and you look so wonderful. Let the cynics have it - this is the boo yah to the yehaaaaa!! Hellz yeah.!
It's no secret that I love, love, love Zooey Deschanel. I love this frothy Oscar de la Renta goodness mixed with the toughness of some razzly studs. Super pretty Hollywood style. If I was walking the red carpet I think I'd call Oscar to fix me up something. I likey.
I don't think Cate Blanchett has ever looked terrible. Ever. This is old school glamour hitting all the high notes for me.

Golden Globes:: Just Let Me Do A Few More (Miranda Kerr, Emily Blunt)

Whoa nelly! Miranda looks hot diggety hot here. And then moments later - the lady in black (I'm assuming she's her publicist) covered her up with her jacket. Because I'm guessing her split went a little wayward with the walking. If I had a ridiculous body like that I'd be wearing that too - and I'd insist on being wheeled in on a float.
Emily Blunt and those dreamy eyes. Sigh. I just adore her. And though I wouldn't choose this dress, it looks so super darn fantastic on her, I can see why she did. There's a window of time you can wear those trickily cut dresses - sadly my time is not now - unless you want to see my muffin top - and I'm guessing you're not here to see that. Or if you are, do let me know and I can instagram the crap out of my spare tyre. I promise.
Vera Wang did it. And I like it. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss has never looked so sublime. This ethereal, floaty, dreamy frock rocks my socks. She looks pretty pleased with herself too.
I whole-heartedly love this ker-azy couple. They're dancing to the beat of their own drum and I love them all the more for it. Helena has down-played her hair a little this time, right?

Golden Globes:: Isla Fisher, Jessica Chastain, Kerry Washington, Lucy Liu - and YAWN Heidi Klum

Isla Fisher. Can you imagine the fun she must have with her husband Sacha Baron Cohen? Crumbs. I'd love to have them to a dinner party. I mean - I wouldn't know what to serve, but it would be fun. Yes? And I could ask her to bring this dress so I could try it on and play dress-ups. This, my friends, is how it's done. Old school glamour. The girl is positively radiant.

Even the woman behind Jessica Chastain seems to be grimacing at this ice blue Calvin Klein confection and grimacing. We shouldn't study it too hard, because Jessica seems to either be trying to tear it off, or stand on the side so we can barely see her.
Oh how I love Kerry Washington. And this Miu Miu sheath is simple, stylish and sophisticated. Maybe she could help Jessica out with some style tips?

One of my favourite looks for the Golden Globes - Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera. It reminds me of Watteau's paintings - abundant with fruit and flowers. This has personality and I adore that. No boring black - and a fun silhouette. More! More! More!
Surely I am not the only one to be a little bored with Heidi and her endless and in shape pins? Girlfriend needs to hide in the wardrobe for a few weeks so we can miss her. And PS her lips seem to have become camouflaged. Anyone got a hot red lipstick they can share?

Golden Globes:: Glenn Close, Jodie Foster, Sally Field, Morena Baccarin

Just like Helen Mirren, I do love Glenn Close. And I love this frock - but is it just me - I can't help feeling like her head is on backwards. Anyhooo - Zac Posen strikes again with this beautifully crafted navy number.
Something something, Jodie Foster went off in her speech - something something. Missed all of that. But I see her here on the red carpet and I likey. Georgio Armani? Yes please.  But has Jodie appeared in anything since The Silence of the Lambs?
When I watch Homeland, I am always taken aback by Morena Baccarin's beauty. She is phenomenal. Despite the punters panning this dress, I'm into it. Elegant and reminiscent of the 1930s, and that hair? Sheesh. This is perfection in my book.
I'm a massive fan of navy. So much softer and more subtle than boring old black. Sally Field, not since A Flying Nun have I seen you look so ravishing. Actually, that is a blatant lie. I just wanted to work A Flying Nun into my post. And look there - I did it twice.

Golden Globes:: Kate Hudson, Julianna Moore, A Bratz Doll, Helen Mirren

So Nicole Kidman was dressed by Alexander McQueen. And so was Kate. And I - hands-down - think Kate got in first for the best frock. She does not look like she's going to slay He-Man. So it's black - but the bedazzling just makes this sing. What a fox.

Another of my favourite actresses, Julianna Moore - in Tom Ford. I like that it's simple, the silhouette created by those white panels - MWAH! Plus - if you know me, you'll know I am a massive fan of over-sized earrings and a simple clutch. This is #winning.

Did you know they brought a Bratz doll to life and placed it on the red carpet in some elaborate guerilla marketing ploy? Well. Now you do.
Holy smokes! Does Helen Mirren EVER get it wrong? Nope. Never. How smoking hot does she look? Aye carumba. Lady oozes style.

Golden Globes:: Claire Danes, Zooey Deschanel, Marion Cotillard, Naomi (Mega) Watts

Claire Danes has just had a baby - as an aside, I'm going to tell you that after giving birth to my first child I was rarely seen even out of the house, let alone out of my pyjamas and in make-up within six weeks. And after that, well it was anyone's game - but it took me a long time to get back on the hair, make-up and fashion horse. So bravo to Claire (and anyone that can do it - me? I flunked.). But did she really need to dress like she was heading to Las Vegas? Where's the razzle? Where's the dazzle? It's Versace - so the halter is mandatory.

I am imagining this Oscar de la Renta frock has pockets - and in my book, that's the sign of perfection. Add Zooey, some simple accessories and classic hair and make-up - and you've got yourself a styling success. So cute I want to keep her in my pocket. f

Marion Cotillard - so Frenchy, so chic. Would it hurt if I say, I like her shoes? And her shoulders. Oh and I do like her natural make-up. But well.. Let's look at Naomi Watts, shall we?

Burgundy gives me a bit of anxiety. It reminds me of high school. There's no way you can make me enjoy burgundy unless it's in a glass after a stinking stressful day. I love the cut of this Zac Posen frocks jib. I just don't enjoy that colour. Points for sublime hair though. Ok. I'll give her that.
