We've been doing a little 'therapeutic' crafting around here. A little Christmas kiddie craft. I grabbed a few things at the craft store, in a blaze of popping ears and a toddler talking a million miles an hour, even though I couldn't hear a thing.
A few things. A few sparkly things. I felt a little bamboozled. I always do when I'm faced with so many options. I was a bit unsure that the Doctor had the fine motor skills for this one. But to my pleasant surprise, it was a good crafting activity for concentration and to sit side-by-side and craft and chat. Nice.
Sparkly disco Christmas trees.
The Doctor's tree is the one with the large sequins. You can cover a lot of ground with those sequins, which I think for a three and a half year old is very attractive. Plus, it was a lot less fiddly than the small stars. He did start with stars, then went with the sequins.
But fear not. I don't decorate 'til December. So while we're in the throes of making decorations, they're not out yet. I'm not living in a department store.

He did a really good job with the sequins! Kids love craft and its a great way to make some xmas decos!
Lucky for me my tree is still decorated from last year just need to take it out of the cupboard!
I love the disco christmas. How did you make them? The sketch is just devine too.
Goodness it is nearly December already. I actually had to do some xmas shopping today.
What a great idea - it looks like heaps of fun. I'm assuming you attach them with pins? Its amazing how heavy a bit of styro-foam becomes after some intensive pinning.
Must be Christmas decoration day, I spent some lovely time with my 3yo making paper chains this morning, they are now hanging from the roof, 9 days earlier than usual...
and in that long pause the 5yo and his friend just made high speed paper chains which have joined the first lot. Looks like Christmas is starting early at our house!
Looks like lots of fun! I love the sketch too...
I'm getting into the kiddie craft too - but she's not yet 2, so not quite up to these beauties! I also love the sketch behind, did you do that? It's beautiful.
