Romancing.. The PMM

I love a good romantic flick. And since Matt is wildly studying and writing an essay, I've taken romance into my own hands and have been settling down into the couch for some evening romance.

If you're a Jane Austen fan (I am! I am! Look at me madly waving my hand - I AM!), the 2007 production of
'Persuasion' is positively dreamy. I say Captain Wentworth - be still my beating heart - ba-boom! Being a late bloomer, I've just discovered that Rupert Penry-Jones is in 'Spooks'. Now I'm going to have to watch that.

I was captive to this film, and if you're in for a bit of old-school Austen romance, I definitely recommend it. Especially Penry-Jones for the eye candy. Swooning!

I am on particularly good terms with our local video store (should I be calling it the DVD store - they don't do videos anymore), just in case you were wondering. It's like going to the Cheers bar - though they don't really know my name, we know each others faces, and we recommend films to one another. I'm very friendly like that. Nice, innit?

You cant have Rupert - he's mine I tell ya - MINE. I am totally in love with him - I only watch Spooks for a glimpse of him running around saving the world (cause I sure as hell dont know what else is going on in that confounding show). Swoon - now I will have to rent Persuasion!

Ahhhh, the lovely Rupert. Yes. Now I will also have to rent Persuasion. I love Austen too, but the Rupert thing pushes it over the edge.

I LOVE this production of Persuasion! and Rupert... hmmm... Do you know, it's usually the tall dark brooding thing I go for but I have to confess he's the only blond man I find attractive - that has to be meaningful! (Well, it is for me!) Thanks for great post - love it. K

Ohhhhhhhh Austen. It's raining outside at the moment, if I go for a walk I might just happen upon a handsome stranger lol. Check out the earlier version too, I liked it better than this one. But any Austen is a good Austen.

I dunno what it is, but I've never been able to get into Austen...and I read A LOT of her at school and uni.

Charlotte Bronte, though, that's another story...

Love it, and also the older version with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds.
