It's Me: Day 10 (The Outsider)

I know, I know, it's not strictly day ten, but I decided to go AWOL. How many pictures of myself can I possibly plaster on my own blog? It felt like way too many. And yet today, I must finish this small project because otherwise it's hanging over my head.

Today my outfit* is dedicated to all the mothers at the Doctor's pre-school. The ones who avert eyes and never say hi.

This is me saying hi to you. How do you like them apples?

* Please note - no stripes or cardies have been harmed in my outfit today. Are you feeling proud? I am.

just wait until you start school!!! omg I was so unprepared for school politics and playground gossips!

jealous is all I'll say! they're probably terribly envious of your figure and style.

you're one cool mama.

I agree with dearmolly. But why can't they be jealous and friendly?

what???? What is going on in your neck of the woods? One look at your stockings, sister, and I'd be dropping hints about how nice it would be to have someone to grab a cuppa with ... especially after what shall remain named as 'the wallaby incident' at my first 'new to the neighbourhood' playgroup experience ...

When bored at work my husband randomly looks at my blog and the ones on my blog roll.

His comment last week: "that potty mouth mama sure likes to post pictures of herself." ... it's ok, i explained.

Nice pins by the way!

Good lord, what?! Can't they handle someone who is gorgeous and ridiculously stylish? I'll be they are always wearing gym clothes too and not going to the gym. And bike pants. Over sized acrylic jumpers and bike pants. Help! I just scared myself...

HI. Maybe we should just be cyber friends.

Hello!

I'm really daggy and still the mothers avert their eyes and never say hi. But I say hello anyway - school carpark politics - it's brutal.

Oh I hate that school clique thing too... it's BORING!!
You're just too cool for school Lexi! And, they aren't worth it.
You'll find your "people" eventually.
I love the outfit - wish I had the legs for this, you look stunning!

You would have been a breath of fresh funky air at our new kinder. I'm finding the sea of polar fleece a little hard to navigate...

I keep hearing about scary, unfriendly mums at preschools and schools. I must be just lucky ... or oblivious (maybe I just think they are saying hello back when they are really saying rack off lady).

Anyway poo to them. We all know how fabulous you are. (And I love, love, LOVE your tights.)

Ah, I love it! And why the hell doesn't becoming a Mum of a pre-schooler/kinder/school kid come with a manual? The dynamics are the same as the high school back oval...

You are one cutey pa-tootey lady! I'd say hi :)

Oh those mums! I would have talked to you on the very first day - I can spot an op shopping devotee a million miles away!

We have a similar little situation at swimming. Some sleak, super slim mums in their designer gear. Can you believe that at 35 I can feel intimidated by the Ginger and Smart-ie pants mums? I just talk to them any way. I know they think I am weird - for god sake, I sew my own skirts...

You are the coolest. When eyes are averted at pre-school it is strictly out of jealousy TO BE SURE you pretty thing! (sweet god I sound like the old lady I am. I am about to offer you a stick of dusty gum from my pocketbook).

Cool tights - where did you get them? (If you don't mind me asking, that is...?)

I've always thought that school-mum crowd / thing sounds a little odd and slightly scary. Not sure I'm going to look forward to that!

I hope you stunned them with your fabulousness - I bet you did!
