Blogtoberfest Day 27: Hello. My Name Is...

Hello friends. My name is PMM. And I have road rage.

I despise all those toffy-nosed mothers who drive huuuuge 4WDs and then try to talk to me about carbon footprints. But most of all I despise them because they hog the road, then underneath their ten kilos of eye make-up they shoot me evils because I keep trying to edge them out of the way. I hate 4WDs in the city. Where are you 4WDing to my friend? Up the gutter?

I despise their road-hogging when I'm trying to fang it with only minutes to spare when I pick up the Doctor from pre-school. I shake my fist at you sisters and your road-hogging tendencies. You don't own the road just because your car is a beast and probably costs more than the sum total of my life earnings. I don't care!

Someone give me one good reason why 4WDs should stay in the city, and I will not object, this is me, PMM - Mayoress of Cranky-ville.
PS - Ever used Evening Primrose Oil? Super good. But check with your GP before taking it.

We hear you PMM! I don't get the urban fascination with 4WDing.

Do you walk through shoppingtown carparks filed to bursting with gleaming fancy-schmancy mummy tractors and wonder at the debt we are in just to keep up with each other? The newest car, biggest house and kids in the latest designer duds. I floors me that we are this competitive of such lame-o things.

I'm totally with you and the 4wds!! I hate them too, who needs such a big car in the city, and half the time there is only one person in them.
And you know what they are really dangerous too, they knocked my grandpa over and broke his hip, and at 85 that's not too good.

4WD's belong in the bush that's what they are for. Having them in busy city streets is annoying at the very least if not downright dangerous. I hear you on your gripe.

i agree, the line of vision is poor at some angles in them so you sometimes cant be seen if you are on that side of them in your wee car, i was almost veered off a mountain by one and at the school crossings they park illegally and cant see the kids. a friend ran over his wee daughters pram sans the bub and i said did you go out and buy a new car and he said nup a new pram, scary.and dont get me started on how can people afford them and run them and the old farts that cant even get into them. toodles

We carbon-offset our car (not a 4wd). Maybe they do to?

I'm hearing you! Me and my little 2.5 door hatch (one door only opens from inside the car) are sick of almost getting side swiped by Toorak Tractors... and not being able to see the road ahead... as for PMS... I like to use it as a weapon... for good, obviously... and excessive chocolate consumption!
Great blog :)

Dare I admit to having a 4WD (second hand - Just the last two weeks). We bought it as it was the ONLY vehicle that had 5 star safety rating (front and curtain airbags for every seat) and can carry four/five children plus us adults. We carbon offset - but usually walk. We have rear sesors but will be getting a rear camera installed for extra safety. It has MUCH better vision all round of the road than our previous station wagon.

No I dont wear eye make up, I hold back and let people in, live in a small cottage and kids wear hand me down or sweat trade free clothes.
