Reading?

Pip has been writing a bit about what she's been reading. And then I popped over to see Rach at Grandy and Baa, and she and Minnie have been reading Charlotte's Web. Everybody's doing it.

The Doctor and I have been reading Roald Dahl's 'The Minpins'. We're loving it (it's half read in one sitting), and I think it's one of the few stories by RD that I didn't read as a child. I was always a huge Roald Dahl fan and think I even cried when he died in 1991. I even remember we were on the school bus when the news broke.

Alexis at Knot Sew Crafty posted recently about Roald Dahl too. Made me think about how nice it would be to have my very own writing space, instead of sitting propped up on the couch, or stealing a slice of the kitchen table to shove my computer on, haphazard so I can punch out some words. Now wouldn't that be ace of base?
And see those dinos down the bottom? A gift from my friend Sal at Georgie Love. She sure knows how to make a small boy smile.

Do you know I have never read this either? My 4 1/2 year old is into the whole chapter book thang now so perhaps we should give it a crack. We tried the Velveteen Rabbit a while back but that didn't fly. Maybe too early ...

I on the other hand have sunk to a new level book wise. I had all four Twilight books shoved (yes, shoved I tell you!) into my hands by a fellow blogger and reluctantly delved in ... holy moly I dream of when I can squeeze in a bit of Edward time now! In fact, I may go do some reading now!

We're up to our EYEBALLS in Roald and I'm loving secretly reliving my own kidhood while we do, but The Minpins is new to me too. Excellent stuff.

Where has this one been hiding, we are new to this one. I will have to check it out on the Dr recommendation, perhaps you could get him in on the Lexi star rating

Oh Lexi, we don't have this one! We are part way through 'Charlie and the chocolate factory' and I just went crazy over at book depository on a stack of books we don't have here. That site is dangerous with free shipping... I love 'james and the giant peach' and have my much loved copy - just not sure if the start may be a little too scary for Minnnie. I love reading aloud and seeing the excitement on that little face. And having a little giveaway - help needed over here with baby names... X

I have never seen the Minpins! I will have to track it down.

Thanks for linking to me, and pop by if you have a moment--I'm having a giveaway, and maybe lightning will strike twice for you!

I have never heard of that one- but was a huge fan as a child and then as an asdult discovered all his grown up books too - which I also enjoyed.
