Good Boy Mum!

My eyes are about to pop out of my head. I just rang the Karitane Hotline (Tresillian only do up to age 2). I need me some sleep. I need me some sleep something chronic. I am like a swinging pendulum, one minute delirious, the next way-too-serious.

Tiny has some serious questions to answer. In particular, why the aversion to sleep? Why no day sleeps for three days? Why no night sleeps? Why why why?

Up 'til midnight and she still has energy. Enough energy to throw herself down on the floor and tanty like it's 1999.

I don't give a brass razoo about chocolate eggs. I want the Easter bunny to bring me a big, fat sleep. A big one. A huge one.

Despite the fact Tiny is driving me stark raving bonkers she still makes me giggle with 'Good boy mum!'. Here she is, herself going slightly bonkers, her latest faux happy facial expression.

my older girl was so hard at that age, and one of the worst things was the sleep issue. she too seemed to have endless energy, especially for tantrums. what i found though, was that she was actually somewhat manic from lack of sleep, rather than genuinely energetic.

a book that really helped me was "raising your spirited child". i can't remember the author now (my girl is 14 now!) but i will see if google-fu will help me.

keep your chin up!

Ah man, you poor thing. Hope that sweet kiddo of yours allows you some sleep soon.

When your eyes are back in your head then let's grab a coffee and big chunka cake at Avenue Rd. Just let me know when you'll be in the area.

Sending you lots of snoooozy thoughts lil' lady. xx

Sounds like my bub Abigail, she is 20 months and has just waved bye bye to her day naps. I'm not ready to give them up yet, that's my quiet time!!

Hope you get some much needed rest over Easter. xx

Good on you for ringing the hotline, sometimes as mums we need to put up our hand up and say 'Help!', hope they helped x

Oh you poor thing. Have you tried here?

http://sleepandsettle.com.au/

I haven't used her for toddlerhood, but her info was a lifesafer at 2 months, 6 months and 9 months. She does kids up to five. Seriously consider a phone call or even a house visit if she'll come down from Newcastle? If I have any problems with mine I will be going there first.

Hope things work out soon for you, I really do.

Ack, I am so sorry Lexi, I remember that desperation for sleep so well, I hope it comes soon (your hubby will be home for Easter, right? Can he do kids and you do sleep for a little bit?)Thinking of you,

OK, swapsies. I'll deal with Tiny if you can make mine get up, get a haircut and get a goddamn job.

Oh and Maggie May ... we can keep the Aussie slang comin' and no one will know a cocky's kiber (sp??) what we're talking about.

I love the saying brass razzo. I use it at least once a day.

I hope you get a sleep. Maybe you could hide the Easter eggs down the street and around the corner and over the bend and send the kids out to find them while you stay in bed and rest.

Or you could get a gigantic cucumber and start slicing for the bags under you eyes. Your eyes. Not anywhere else....... :)
