You're Booked!

I found this super cute book the other day by Emma Dodd called "You". I mean, just look at it, it's got cute written all over it. I can't wait to give it to Tiny because I think she's going to love it long time - it has gold foil on every page, so. darn. cute.

The Doctor was home today sick as a dog, woke up with a raging 3am fever, and conjunctivitis. But I didn't realise it was conjunctivitis until a friend at preschool looked at him this afternoon and said "Oh you've got conjunctivitis" - and I went "BINGO!" - and then as an aside to myself "Der, why didn't I see that before?! Of course it's conjunctivitis". Poor little dude. Conjunctivitis is the pits, isn't it? So we stayed at home and I read him Cressida Cowell's "How To Be A Pirate".

What books are your big and smalls reading? And you? I have a big stockpile next to my bed, but none of them calling me right now. Any recommendations?

I am reading 'Savvy Chic' by Anna Johnson. I thought it was just a book about being thrifty, but it is actually more like a memoir of her life as a struggling writer. Its very well written and I am really enjoying it.

Sophie is reading Pippi Longstockings, the one that is illustrated by Lauren Child (so the drawings all look like Charlie and Lola).

Conjunctivitis sucks. Poor wee Doctor.

I'm bogged down in uni readings; but my small has completely fallen in love with Me... Jane. The picture book about Jane Goodall's free range childhood. I like it, but I don't love it. We went on a mini-break to the library this afternoon. Hopefully there is something new to fall in love with in our over-stuffed library bag.

The two bigger kids are reading Harry Potter, and the smallest one is reading anything by Julia Donaldson (Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, Monkey Puzzle etc).

I am reading Jasper Coe's book What a Carve Up! but it is slow going at the moment. Hope you find something to grab you soon.
