Are You (GASP!) A Mummy Blogger? Then Go Outside And Shake Yourself
Megan at the Byron Life (who is basically living my life, but it's not mine, it's hers, but I'd like it to be my life, but it's not - oh look, oops I did it again) blogged about this the other day. And it's been bugging me.
Not Megan. But the article. Actually not the article. It's all the 'hoo har' about the article. The poor journo has been sent reeling. And how ridiculous people can be. Seriously peeps, don't take things so darn seriously!
Do you blog?
Would you categorise yourself a 'mummy blogger'?
Are you cringing at being a 'mummy blogger'?
If you are, can I book you in for some expensive counselling?
I mean of course you're blogging about bigger things, but if you a) blog and b) have child, then you are sort of going to be labelled a 'mummy blogger' (unless you're blogging about the mating cycles of small extinct reptillian bandicoots, then I guess you're some kind of kooky animal blogger). I hate to break it to you but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
And speaking of cookies - check out these ace apple earrings over at Earl and Cookie. How was that for a segue?
PS - go visit Megan. She's a top bird!

It's Me: Day 5

I didn't 'it's me' myself over the weekend or yesterday because Matt was home, and where would the fun be in that, he can already see me, so it was redundant peeps.
Today I am probably going to make Victoria Mason's tummy churn because I am wearing her delicious sharpening necklace (that my sister gave me for my birthday) with track pants. Illegal. Highly illegal. A grade A felony. Illegal in seven countries. My only redemption? I am wearing a grandpa style cardi.
It's a sad world we live in, when five days in, I'm already wearing fleecy track pants. Forgive me.

Juicy, Delicious, Watery - Ergh, That's Me...?
via Kindly Mama Mogantosh has awarded me with a Watermelon Award. To be frank, it should be the bananas award. Or the coconuts award. But I'll go with watermelon - apparently my blog is sweet and refreshing. Thanks Rach!
So I must name 6 things that make me happy. And I did do this earlier today, but it's easy to think of things that make me happy, so I'll go hell for leather and hit you with another six, and then I'll pick six blogs that make me feel sweet and refreshed too. Dig?
Six Happy Things
1. Playing 'Wanna Be Starting Something' up loud and getting the Doctor and Tiny to dancey-dance.
2. When Tiny says cat and then does the obligatory 'meeeoow' - over and over again.
3. Selling all my stuff on eBay. Not everything, but just stuff I don't need.
4. Finding new delicious recipes to whip up in the kitchen. Gets me in a frenzy every time.
5. Late afternoon sunshine when the day's been dull and grey. Loving that heat - no matter how weak.
6. For the first time in a long time, lying on the couch and relaxing without the gnawing guilt of thinking I need to be doing something else rather than just 'being'.
Six blogs that are ripe for a-pickin'
4. Michelle from Hugo & Elsa - because I am going to move in next door one day, but Michelle doesn't know it yet
By no means is this list conclusive. I could go on and on 'til the break of dawn. So play along if you'd like. Six happy things? Hit me up!

This Is...What I'm Surprised I Like
When Victoria from Earl & Cookie declared this week to be the This is what I'm surprised I like week, well I scratched my head.
- I'd like to like fish - but I'm not a huge fan
- I'd like to like tofu - but it tastes like someone chewed it up already for me
- I'd like to say I like Iron Maiden - but you know, I just don't dig all that metal
Perplexed, I'm hitting straight from the heart. I'm surprised I like Nick Cave. I know, I know, everyone loves a bit of Nick in the morning, noon and night, but me, well I've always fought it. Fought it with a vengeance.
But I have to say, when Matt requested this song as the song to walk out of the church as a married couple to - well it wooed me. I'm still not a hardcore Nick Cave fan, but I'm coming around.
Thanks to Victoria for an ace theme, and thanks as ever to Angela at Three Buttons for bringing This Is into our bloggy lives. Woop woop!
And I am now on a bent to check out pineapple lumps. I've never seen them before but they sound ACE!
