Speaking The Truth

Sometimes I'd really love to speak my mind.

Yesterday I sat on the train next to a guy who talked on his mobile at the top of his voice. From this conversation I extracted the following conversation:

  • He was on his way to work
  • His boss' name is Andrew
  • His boss is overweight
  • His boss is married
  • His boss was attending his wife's grandfather's funeral that day, and would not be at work
  • His boss had a four year old daughter
  • His boss was definitely married (yep, kept reiterating that point)
  • And heck, he didn't know what he was up to on Saturday and Sunday

I heard all of this despite my best efforts to not hear all of this. I cranked up Bon Iver but still the noisy commuter's voice permeated my music. While Bon Iver is not exactly Pantera, it was up loud. Truly.

Reminded me of Clive. There's always a Clive on the train. Yes?

When Life Hands You A Banana.

You make fruit salad, right? Or you can eat it monkey style...?

Or if life hands you a rotten banana, make banana bread - right?
Photos courtesy of Tiny and her train ride. (I've got plenty more where those came from - try ten shots).

Love Bugs

Gentle, funny little man. Rare quiet moments punctuated with so many questions, so much to learn, to grasp. Days of constant chatter, commentary making me giggle at the mundane.
"You're my best friend, Mummy". Sweet love.
Sporadic sloppy kisses and your wide-eyed wonder.

My inquisitive, funny Noah. My Tookie Catty. Currently detesting sleep time. Loving train time.

Sometimes I sneak in to watch you sleeping. Gentle arcs of closed eyes. I smell your warm, milky breath and hover. Trace your soft hair. My heart fills. You move or snuffle, I freeze for fear I may be caught. I leave the room in love. Full of unyielding mummy love. When you do wake, you're full of secret smiles.
