The Motherload:: Continued

So yesterday when I showed you my booty from the side of the road, I didn't show you everything. Not even half. I know. I know. Who throws this kind of stuff out? Probably someone that doesn't know that there's some crazy lady lurking around the backstreets sniffing out treasures.

Here we go. Day two of my rummaging expose. Close your eyes if you can't bear my luck. But really, this stuff is now in a home where it's going to be treasured. Pretty soon you won't be able to get into our house because I am thrifting and finding like a maniac. My husband may soon ban me from my walks...

This crazy little cushion. Looks a little evil, no? This funny little softie.

This half-squashed ambulance. Still, it is resplendent in cool factor.

A bag of beautiful marbles. Funnily, I had been searching for marbles last week. Lo and behold, I was totally and utterly, wet my pants delighted to find this big bag. And the tub that I had also been looking for for kiddie craft (stay tuned for that one).
Old skittles.

Are your eyes hurting? Yes.. Sorry, there's still more to come. Two brand new bags - one Cathay Pacific still unopened in its plastic bag.

Tiny little figurines. And a sheep. And a pig. Oink.

More cars.

There's more. I won't bore you.

But I have to confess. I think I am now a bonafide junk junkie. I've done three drive-bys just to look at the remaining boxes/bags sitting kerbside. I can't stop thinking about it. It hurts in my stomach. Thankfully, I think my addiction may have come to a standstill (no more heavy breathing at the thought of what could be?!) because I drove by this morning, only to discover the garbage-men scooping all that delicious junk into the back of the garbage truck. For a moment, I considered pulling over and throwing myself on it. I did. I wanted to scream - No! This has been a terrible mistake - this is MY JUNK! But, like a normal person I kept driving. Though I did throw a few backward glances (and all the while thinking - what if they're throwing something really great out).

Just in case you're wondering about that enema kit. Well I still have it. I can't touch it. But it will be continuing it's adventure in the next council pick up day. Let me know if you need to know when that is in our neighbourhood.. Wink. Wink. Actually, no, I am going to do a giveaway since this is my 182nd post. Just kidding. It's going to a better place. The garbage dump.

That xylophone is gorgeous.

And what about those marbles? Clearly they're the ones that were lost, just before deciding to put all this loot out as rubbish.

Now I can't wait until our next council hard garbage collection. Of course, knowing my luck I will just find a suitcase of enema kits.

Thank you...These posts cracked me up! Yes, my eyes were hurting, lucky duck you. I will have to show my partner this so I can prove there ARE other crazy chicks out there who love rummaging through other people's junk as much as I do. he dreads it every time there's a council clean-up in our area...
If you don't have any room left at your place for the xylophone....

Seriously, you need to stalk these people and break in because if these are the treasures they are throwing out I can only imagine what they are keeping. I am running with the pack - xylophone just goreous.

goodness, that really was a find. agree with hoppo...the xylophone is my fave. The cars? Daniel's fave. I was telling him about it this morning (blogs come to life in our house!) and it started the debate - what is trash, what is treasure. Who throws those things away. Crazy people, that's who. (that's my only explanation).

oh my lord, people are insane throwing such treasures out. I love the skittles and everything else really. It's sad to think that they would've landed in landfill without you. And to think it's illegal to pick up hard rubbish.

Yes, the cushion is evil looking, but all the other cute stuff makes up for it.
I am just about swooning at all your wonderful goodies.

I can not even read this post because my jealousy is fogging up my eyeballs. Seriously seriously seriously you found this in the TRASH?

My head hurts. I mean, I am happy for you. Such pain.
