The Croupinator

via

Last night we spent over three hours in emergency at the hospital. Fear not, we're all good in the 'hood. The Doctor seems prone to croup and woke up coughing and coughing and coughing and couldn't stop.

Of course once we got to the hospital the Doctor perked up. Because there are bright lights, cold stethoscopes, 'swineys' (people wearing masks) and trolleys being wheeled this way and that way.
I'm tired and have a headache due to lack of sleep. Times like these we're lucky to live with my in-laws because Tiny got to stay home while we went out. Otherwise we might have had a tiny little zombie baby pouncing around the hospital.
The Croupinator (aka the Doctor) got a big fat syringe full of steroids and we were on our way.

Mine get croup too. (one has it now, in fact) Get a prescription for Redipred and keep it on hand to give The Doc a dose as soon as you hear "the bark". Get a vaporiser if you haven't already. (Some people say they don't make a difference, but they do to mine!!!) I don't want another night of bolting to the hospital, or of sitting in the bathroom with the shower going holding a little body wracked with chest pain, again. Hope he's OK now and you have a restful day ahead.

Oh, poor little man and poor mummy. Kids and hospitals seem to go together far to often don't they? All the best to both of you.

I feel your pain, Lexi...I'm typing this from my daughter's hospital bed where she's lain with bronchiolitis for the past 10 days.

Not. Fun.

Get well soon, Dr!

Good luck Lexi, hope you have a better day tomorrow. When Ivy got a steroid shot for croup, she crawled the next day! Performance-enhancing, all right.

Will wait to hear whether your small gets all athletic tomorrow.

Perhaps it's that Dr nickname that lead to his love of sending mum off to the ER. Hope he is feeling better real soon, somehow I think he was probably still talking all the way through.
