Because I Am Nuts For Squirrels

When Matt and I spent some time in London, I discovered squirrels. What some people call a rodent, I call a thoroughly charming, fluffy tailed little fellow. I used to feed them, which apparently, is illegal. No matter, those little fluffy cuties came bounding out from wherever they be hiding to be fed by PMM (although technically I wasn't a mama at this stage) and I made it worth their while. Honey nut bar anyone?

Anyhow, it is for this reason that the above photograph delights me. Totally. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say, the photo above thrills me beyond reason and back again.

I'm a great lover of squirrels too and even enjoy making houses, feeders, and bridges for them. By the way, what KIND of squirrels did you discover in England? My understanding is that American Eastern Grays were introduced to London long ago, and have since taken a lot of territory from the less aggressive native squirrels. Here in Eugene, Oregon, we have mostly Douglas Squirrels, a species that is only found near the upper West Coast of the US.

Illegal? Opps... but they are so cute and hungry!

We saw our first squirrel in London and made friends with some in a park in Glasgow too. Is it illegal to feed Scottish squirrels...

I love that photo of you at the top -it's just so gorgeous! Such a fabulous outfit.

My children are nuts about squirrels too, they play squirrels all the time. I'll have to show them this pic - it'll send them even more nuts!

Nooooo I hate squirrels. I was chased by a couple at Niagara Falls. After that I steered clear of them

So cute. Really cute. I lived with those critters in London too and we even had a 'pet' in our garden that we could hand feed. But I never really loved them, not like my Mum who had this elaborate plan of how she was going to strap one to each of her legs for her return flight to OZ. Before our friends at Customs raid our house, she never did it.

I love that photo, what a delight!
I saw quite a few squirrels on my recent trip to the states, it was always a treat to spy one scampering up a tree.

Glen was just telling Caleb about the illegal feeding of squirrels in central park just the other day and how much he loved it.
I took him to pick fabric for his quilt and he had to have squirrels. He has good taste my boy. Or perhaps that is just what happens when they know your name in the local fabric shop, Caleb's that is not mine.
