It's a Lot of Bread

I have another collection. It's bread tags. Everyone's collecting them for me. Look at them. Ordinary objects, but together, reunited, they are having a very plastic family reunion. There are big ones, small ones, blue ones, pink ones, white ones, brown ones. They are breeding too. Look at how many are in the jar..

I collect them too! But only ours. I'm interested to see how many when accumulate in a year. But I can't remember quite when I started collecting them, so I guess it's not very scientific.

Random bread tag story:
At one point they thought my Nanna had bowel cancer. But when they opened her up to investigate they found that she had in fact eaten a bread tag and it had become stuck.
I still can't work out how you would unknowingly eat a bread tag, but she was always in a hurry.

So much plastic! I wonder what craft you could do with them.....

Oh what are you going to do with them all? Surely something beautiful can be made with them.

Great collection. Can't wait to see what you do with them – you could wait until you've got hundreds and hundreds and then cover a whole kitchen wall!

all together like that they look so pretty. Aren't you a clever chook, I'd never think to collect them.

when i was in the brownies as a wee girl it was the height of fashion to collect these and clip them onto the rim of our hats... to the point that it was so heavy it slouched over the eyes and rendered it unwearable. Jeez, kids do really wierd things!

A while back my mom collected heaps of these, there was someone at the library where she worked that had a "plastic bread thingy collection" going and there was some charitable benefit they used their collection to buy a wheel chair for someone!!! I don't know if its ongoing or how it worked exactly but worth exploring. I am all the way in Cape Town so may not be an option where you are... and what would you search: bread thingy charity... I dunno... I will see what i can find out!
