Meltdown? Help!

Do you ever feel like you're heading straight for a meltdown? Right now I do.

- New job
- My computer died (so I am stealing time on my husband's - high five Matt) (Spare a thought for Pip, she has no space bar)
- Madly house hunting (rent is RIDICULOUS!)
- Navigating in-laws
- Trying to keep the house clean for inspections
- Regular parenting
- Regular wife-ing
- Being overtired due to an over-exuberant night owl

What do you do when it all feels overwhelming? I've been hanging the clothes out. With intermittent tears being blinked back.

I do have one thing going for me. I am not green. And I don't often wear a pointy hat.

Just breath and keep going. Then when they you can, cry like a baby.

Cry at night and then take a deep breath, sleep, and wake to tackle it all. xo

Sometimes you do need a big cry like Maggie said, it's cleansing and it feels really good! try to rest (I know, I know, easier said than done!) and try to let as much go as you can. We are looking to move to but feel so stuck because rents are crazy (we are on Nth Beaches) maybe it's time for a kibbutz?

You are doing about 5 out of the top 6 most stressful things that can happen in your life.
I have been blinking away tears today too. I feel for you. I wish I was on the other side of the clothesline. We could have a chuckle and swear or kick something.
I used to eat Mint Slice Biscuits when I was feeling stressed but now that I am on a diet I have no fall back.

Is there anything I can do? Ben is a computer man.
I also love looking at Real Estate sales and rentals. I could make you a list of places to look at.

Oh, big hugs. Rough times ahead, Mr Banks (as they said in Mary Poppins.) Just keep truckin, PMM. Imagine how fab it's going to be when you are in that new place! And you will get there. You will you will you will.

It's so tough keeping a house inpection-worthy with small people in it. I did it once, only with one babe then, and that was bad enough. Can you pack away somehow a whole lot of not absolutely-essentials so that you have less clutter to clear?

Get yourself some time in the bath.

And good luck. xx

PMM Prescrption:
I think you need lindt.
I would recommend 50 grams an hour until the stress passes.

A nice long walk.

a cup of tea...

but most of all:
take one soft blanket, a warm Matt, add big cry and cure with a big cuddle.

Is there room for one more at the pity party - my week has been a bee-atch! Just keep swimming, that's all you can do some weeks.

I was stressed to the eyeballs yesterday and the only way I could cope was to have a meltdown. Unfortunately I was at work and it was with my boss. Big fat sobbing tears. The washing line has much more dignity. Let me know if there is anything I can do. I hate that spiralling feeling.

I just keep reminding myself how good it's going to feel when it's all over. It's either that or cry in the shower.

Wow, huge, humungous even, changes in your life right now.
Try and make sure uou get enough sleep... bit tricky when there's non-sleeping smalls around, I know, but take whatever you can get - it will give you the energy to keep going...
How good it will feel when you're living in your own place!!!! That's v.exciting.

I second a good cry (in the shower works for me, if I can shake the smalls off) A big cry with time enough for your eyes to simmer down before you have to go anywhere.

I find it helps to let go of the guilt that accumulates with all that parenting, wifeing, working.

Hope it has passed over now and it all starts to fall into place.

I hold it all in and pretend I'm ok and then have a massive fit over the smallest thing, cry for ages and usually feel a bit better afterwards.

Seriously though, things won't stay like this forever. Hang in there PMM... I'm thinking of ya and eating some chocolates in your honour.

Oh Lexi You poor thing! Find somewhere where you can have a big cry, and then when you're done have a cigarette. I know not kosher, but in times of severe stress there is nothing better than a smoke.
sending you lots of love.

I shut myself in the bathroom with some music on so I can't hear anyone else, have a long shower, cry and bitch in there a bit and then face the rest of the day in your pjs.

things will be easier soon!

just one thing at a time. when you're at work try to use this time to switch off from everything else, not even talk about it to co-workers, make this your time out, and travel to and from work even more so - reading, music but not house hunting!

I love a list when things get chaotic, that way when someone asks what they can do to help, you can look at your list and give them something, even if it's just giving the kids a bath, or doiing a pick-up from kinder. (btw, during weeks like this if the kids didn't roll around in mud, a no bath night can be a little bit of bliss!)

I'm sure you're doing the swan thing and the kids have no idea how fast your legs are going underwater. Thanks for sharing:)
