Bloggers Are Not Superheroes

I'm not sitting here with a cape on. Or my big undies over the top of my outfit. Nor do I have any super powers. I'm not saving lives. I'm only saving my sanity. And preserving my memories. That's what blogging is to me. Oh and it's given me a community of other mamas and general all-round ace chicks to communicate with. To high five. To chew the fat. To bounce ideas. And to virtually hang out with.

But I'm not doing anything anyone hasn't done before. I'm parenting. I'm working part-time. I'm wifeing. I'm trying to make ends meet (and those ends seem to move further and further away monthly). I'm juggling and dreaming, hoping, praying, cleaning, cooking, washing, talking, watching, stitching, writing, reading, sleeping, snoozing, cuddling, kissing, sweeping, watering, laughing, smiling, showering, weeing & pooping, walking, driving, looking, sniffing, colouring, avoiding, chasing, weeding, dusting, vacuuming, emailing, SMSing - oh man, I could go on, but you've probably already fallen asleep. WAKE UP!
I'm a woman. Not a superhero. I have no super powers. If I did, I'd give nasty people an electric shock each time they were nasty. BZZZZzzzZZZ!

So why are bloggers seen as the new superhero? Are bloggers the new black?

Oh I hope someone wasn't mean?! You may not be super woman but I do think that you are just super! xx Would love to see what you are stitching, not so much what you are pooping though

Bloggers are the new black, cos we are cool, hip, and funky, plus we are super mumma's, workers, crafters etc. Everyone wants a piece of that action!

Woops better not tell Superpops!! lol. I didn't know bloggers were the newq black. If they were I would be in for the first time in my life so I can't believe that is true. As for all the rest i do that too only it seems my kids think I am a superhero when it comes to the dishes. But I'll sacrifice there as the mostly look after their own healthy meals. Cherrie
PS I have no intention of waking up because my real superpowers are in crying and sleeping and I'm NOT giving them up. lol

I now have an image of you in nanna knickers hoiked up over your arms, mankini fashion - now that would be super!

I think there's still a lot of mystique surrounding blogging - most of my friends don't do it and therefore don't understand it.

Oh, I hope no one has made a snide anti blogger comment- toot toot to them if they have. I find the blogging community full of wonderful people and like-minded mamas who have made my transition into motherhood all the easier. I feel virtually supported, which is great (sometimes more than by my real life friends, which is not so great!).

Are they/we? Better get out of my kirst bubble eh?

Hoping this is just a cracking post for the sake & not because someone is being mean>

I wonder myself if maybe some bloggy folk maybe think that their opinion matters more? Not me! It's drivel...my drivel...& I like it

You do have undies on though, right?

It's funny that lately I have realised that I would use 'blogger' as one of the first ways to describe myself. And I'm very happy to be in such non-superhero company. Just ordinaries together, learning from and encouraging each other. If that's the new black, cheers to that!

Perhaps because some bloggers portray themselves to be the superwomen of the virtual neighbourhood?

I love (and can better relate to) the warts and all journal rather than the show off blog - if you know what I mean?

Bloggers Rock. And quite frankly, you rock. I LOVE your blog and am a better person for reading it, as you are I'm sure, a better person for writing it.
And if your copping anti blogger messages, well you should be flattered really, because for anybody to comment means that they have taken time out of their day to read your blog! Which just shows how sad it is they feel the need to bring you down. Nobody brings my pottymouthmama down!

nicely put! it doesn't take a superwoman to blog - hell i thought i would never do it (or wasn't capable) and now I am and for similar reasons to you am loving the newly found mumma group of crafty, nerdy, awesome folk!
Yay for normal (but really super) bloggers!

I totally agree (except that I, obviously am a superhero whether I blog or not).

To me blogging is just a bit of a blend of venting, self-expression, memory preservation, fun and bonding/sharing experiences with other mums/chicks/dudes who we may cross paths with along the way.

I've "met" some absolutely amazing people in the last few years, and wouldn't ever have found them without the Bloggverse!

PS - my word verification word below is foozopou and I like it a lot.

I blog because I live with two people the height of midgets for 13 non-stop hours a day (until my tall man gets home) and if I don't write my ramble out I might very well go mad.
I have thoughts, I type them out, I feel better. Plus I get to look back and say to myself "god what a dork."
I am no supermum. I try hard to make it to the end of the day with everyone happy and that's my only goal.
I personally do love wonder womans pants. I am a fan of the hello mummy knickers.

this post rocks. I have received a horrible "anonymous" comment twice in the last week and a bit. It was not an opinion, it was a personal dig at me.

Bloggers are superheroes! Don't you know we are. We also have absolutely no feelings whatsoever. Maybe that is our bionic power, we repel the hurtful comments.

oh, really? but I have the cape and everything... (OK, so it's just a piece of fabric, and I have no actual powers, but a girl can dream...)

You are W-O-M-A-N!!!!!! We can do it all!!!!!

If somebody read your blog then slams it, surely they are sort of blogging themselves?

That's like walking into a cafe, ordering a flat white and then slagging off everyone who drinks coffee.

Two fingers to them.

I like your posts! In a blogging competition you would be up there on the winner's podium.
