Kind Of Down

I seem to spend half my life feeling a bit flat and I'm kind of sick of it. How to shake these blues baby?

We spent our Sunday in the sunshine, and man it was so good for the soul.

Sorry I've been quiet. But better than clogging your mainframe with a whole bunch of boring crap, right?!

In the meantime, treat yourself and listen to this song. Amaze-balls.

How was your weekend?

i think a really great tantrum always works. shout fuck really loud, stamp your feet and run through forest before returning home and drinking your cold drink of choice (beer for me, thanks).

Well you look mighty awesome on that scooter. Look at dear little Tiny watching your foot work!
You might be feeling flat but your little ones adore you. And your big one.
Sometimes I think the flat feelings can come from having to do things we don't really want to do but have to. That's why park days are so important.

My weekend was super dooper. Thanks for asking. I think I was suffering a bit with SAD (lack of sunshine) so my super dooper school friends bought me a plane ticket to Syd-a-ney to hang out. I had not seen them for two years and it was an absolute hoot. Love my lady friends. Good friends who understand life gets a bit crap and busy, friends so old you just pick up where you left off. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. I may have also danced with very young people in a crusty club...good times. So friends, laffs and dancin'. That's my prescription for you PMM.

am also a bit of a fan of oh Mercy - if i i was 20 again i would think that Alexander was the best thing since sliced bread. and he's funny to boot. Have you heard the Lanu album - Megan Washington kicks arse on vocals- give it a spin and see if that perks you up (fall is my favourite). but winter SUCKS. keep up with the vitamin D

You may have a mild case of depression. Check with your doctor....he/she may prescribe medication that will help. I know that for a fact!

Hello Lexi, I'm a friend of Anna's and have been a bit of a naughty sausage, I've followed your blog with admiration for a while but have never revealed myself. I think it's called lurking and I think it's not really the done thing. Anyway, I get these blue funk down periods too. Nothing changes, just for some reason I feel in a grump about everything. I hate it. I know it won't last but still it's a bugger when it falls on you. Like you, getting out in the sunshine with the mini-beasts is my favourite therapy. Hope the blue funk passes and you're soon in the unstinky pink again. Bex

Oh Lex. You need to come see me, drink some beers in the sun, feign shock at some naked Germans and cycle 'round town like a couple of crazy kids. Afterwards we can frock up in dirndls and eat our body weight in gingerbread. Or chocolate. Or both.

I'm glad you had some fun in the sun and hope you feel better soon. x

Ps I've been in Shitsville all week.

1. Amazeballs is, like totally, my favourite word. Way under appreciated.
2. Haven't a cure for the flat attacks - but sometimes the sun does work wonders.
3. Love love love your spunky scooter action
