There's No Better Way To Start A Week:: LEGO Giveaway

The Doctor and Tiny were ridiculously delighted to come home last week, after a long slog at school to discover a LEGO parcel for them.

Mama was delighted too - because the afternoon activity was completely taken care of.

We live, eat and breathe LEGO. Doctors may warn against this eating and breathing LEGO, but it's a way of life for us. And what's not to love?

The Doctor spends hours putting together LEGO kits, saves up his pocket money and Tooth Fairy money to save up for LEGO kits. LEGO LEGO LEGO. He wants to work at LEGO Land when he's big - and though he'll have to move to Denmark, he'll still come and visit me in holidays - so he says.

Yesterday Tiny busted out her Duplo and they had a LEGO 'expression session*' together, with their cousin Phoebe, building freestyle creations. It's pretty fun. And if I hadn't torn the house apart in an attempt to tidy it - I would have plonked myself right down next to them and created with them.

To celebrate everything good that is LEGO, LEGO have given me two sets of each of the below kits to give away to four completely, absolutely lucky people:
From one of the Doctor's favourite sets LEGO City:
Police Dog Van $49.99

The forest policeman has followed the robber to the cave where he’s stashed the stolen goods. It's time to release the dogs and lock him in the back of the police dog van before he gets up to any more mischief! Includes 2 minifigures: forest policeman and a robber.

From the new LEGO Friends range:
City Park Café $49.99

Andrea works at the City Park Café and loves dishing out tasty treats, when she is not singing into her broom and daydreaming of her big performance (I am clearly Andrea's kindred spirit). It’s the perfect place in Heartlake City for all of the LEGO Friends to meet for milkshakes and burgers or to chill and have fun! You can bake goodies for the girls in the café kitchen, complete with everything you need to serve up café cuisine instyle! Then hang in the outdoor dining area and have a milkshake in the sun! Order up a sweet snack, serve the customers and pay with LEGO money bricks!Includes 2 mini-doll figures: Andrea and Marie.

All you have to do is tell me in 25 words or less why you love LEGO for your chance to win.

Four winners will be drawn next Monday 1st April - no joking.Winners will be announced on PottyMouthMama as well as being contacted.
Please ensure you include your email address.
Competition open to Australian residents only. Sorry international peeps.

EDIT:: Entries are now closed. Winners will be announced this afternoon. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing the post and I agree there really is no better way to start a week - unfortunately my kids have to goto school so I guess it's just me...
I'm assuming I have to be in the US to enter your amazing competition?
Cheers

Why I love Lego? I love that my kids spend ages concentrating on what they are making, then join up together to make up stories with their creations. I love that Lego is so versatile and mostly affordable and I love the pride in the kids faces when they show me what they have built

My kids are freestyle crafters with big imaginations, so Lego is a great activity for them. (hurts when you step on it though!)

I have four boys. 'Nuff said.

Lego is one of the few toys still letting our children use their imagination. The creativity unearthed by a box of coloured bricks is amazing!

I love Lego because it keeps The Little Prince occupied so I can relax - until he demands me to join him in the latest "emergency rescue" :-D

Lego is, really, one of the only toys that just never gets old.

My husband is a huge fan and gets in the playroom and builds masterpieces with the kids. He used to go to the Lego Expos back in the 80's and still has fond memories of playing as a kid.

Now my daughter loves playing and shows me her creations, as random as some of them are ;)

Great comp Lexi!

We love Lego in our house and have quite a few sets and lots of old lego that belonged to my brother, still in his old stamford school case he used to store it in. Not sure if I am a fan of the new girls lego though, it just doesn't look as in-depth as the "normal" lego

I love that I don't need to find batteries to make it work & there's no fighting over remote controls. Brain power over socket power I say!

My children leave me alone when playing with lego.
They play nicely together unlike ANY other toys.
Did I mention they leave me alone?

Because I so enjoy stepping on the tiny square pieces when lurching out of bed to wee-ones at night..or just because lego rocks!

Inheritance! My girls love playing with hubby’s childhood lego. Pink Lego?!? The love of ‘Barbie’ combined with the love of lego – head spinning with excitement!!

It's the only vague memory I have of playing with my brother before he passed away aged 12..Sadly, I remember little else.

Lego is the one activity that my 5 year old, 3 year old and the 37 year old in my house can play together!

I love Lego because I am young again when I play it with my kids. I also won't get in trouble by my Mum when I use my teeth to break apart to flat pieces stuck together.

Truth be told, I've never ever owned any lego, my parents were tight and bought a similar generic block set from NZ of all places!

Michelle said...

According to my boy:

I love Lego because it is so fun to play with and build and you can make lots of different things with it.

I LOVE lego because it is a toy that I can still indulge in and play with m lovely boys.

LEGO is awesome because it reminds me of my childhood. It is THE ONE THING that bought my brother and sister and I together and the thing we would all love to play with, despite there being 5 years between us. I now have two boys and would you believe NO LEGO!!!! (Yet). Oh...sorry, exceeded word limit.

I spent an embarrassing amount of money on Harry Potter lego but I'm not really that embarrassed. It totally rocks.

Winter arriving, children need entertaining. The only solution I see? LEGO! Please save us!

My kids are all practicing engineers. I've admired so many structural masterpieces. And the "girl lego", my daughter is desperate!

What I appreciate about lego is it can be a shared experience or quiet play alone and for that to fuel my son's & daughter's imagination is magic.

I love it because when I check on my LO to make sure she is napping and I see that instead she's been playing with legos, my frustration with a non-sleeping child is a just a tiny bit relieved:)

I love how LEGO inspires imagination.
I love it's interchangeability and timelessness;
I love the priceless memories it provides and provokes from generation to generation.

From the mouths of my kids.... 5 year olds says: I love lego because I love putting it together and I love playing with it afterwards.
7 year old says: I love lego because it's a good thing to put together and to distract you while you're bored.
Toddler says: GRAPE! (she wants more grapes, not so into the lego)

Thanks for the opportunity to win some LEGO. My kids love lego, my nearly 10 year old son in particular. His faves at the moment is star wars, but he loves to build what the packet is for & then change & adjust to make his own creation. I just love that! I am also really happy that LEGO is finally realising that girls also love to build & create. My 2 girls (6 & 8) already have some lego, but would love some of the new range. We are just now waiting for some birthdays to come along (Nov & Dec - a long time to wait!). My husband & I have also kept all of our lego & pull it out for the kids to use as special treats in the holidays. So, all in all, LEGO is a great hit in our home, for everyone!

A Red Ham said...

Sorry Pottymouthmama - I just re-read your post, and thought it said more than 25 word - sorry! So in short, we just love to build whatever we want with lego & it is fun to play with!

LOVED lego as a kid. My brother and I played for ages. Possibly the only time my mother had peace.

Now its my turn for peace!!!

Karma man.

Christy said...

the half hour or so of peace and quiet it gives me. No TV, no fighting, kids getting creative, bliss!

I love Lego for the wee men, not so much for the bub, panic & yelling ensues when I find Lego man's head in her mouth!

Our home digs on lego. It keeps the lad, the lass and husband type busy for HOURS. So that I can potter about uninterrupted. LOVE IT.

Christina Lowry said...

I love lego. It's like a school lesson for my son without him noticing. Math, architecture, atoms, colours, shapes etc. it's all there in the humble lego block. :)

I love Lego because it allows kids to be creative and use their imagination. Plus it's just FUN building things and then smashing them apart!

I love the way that Lego captures my kids imaginations and encourages them to create the things they dream of.

I love LEGO because it bridges the generation gap (ie between Boyo and myself) and is screen free time that develops fine motor skills and fosters creativity and imagination.

But mainly I love LEGO because the Welshman is better at it than me so I legitimately get to say "wait til Daddy gets home"!

Dear Pottymouthmama,

I totes deserve to win this prize to make up for the fact that I didn't win the grand final of the LEGO National Building Competition at Sydney Grace Bros in 1984.

You see, I was a rather naive 10 year old and was determined to enter the grand final without any pre-determined design.

Unfortunately, I was up against a bunch of 10 year old male nerds who had rehearsed their designs with steely determination for weeks.

Naturally, my spontaneous creation looked veritably piss-weak by comparison.

Thank you for the opportunity to enter this wondrous competition.

Yours,
Wee Birdy.

p.s. Oh, and my one year old son would also really dig some LEGO.

Top bird said...

OK, please ignore the above entry as it clearly breaks the 25 words or less rule. But I shall leave it for posterity. Here's my official entry:

I love LEGO because it's ace and this prize would make up for losing the LEGO building competition at Grace Bros in 1984.

I'd love to win because my four year old is desperate for some 'real Lego mum!' instead of playing with his little brother's Duplo!
