De-Gluttoning

I have exciting things planned this year people. Exciting things. I read my friend, Carrie's piece about decluttering that was in Health Smart . It has given me even more impetus to live more simply. Live with less. And I love that idea.

So far I've been going through baby clothes and being ruthless. I've gone through our crockery - and have boxed up some pieces that give me the creeps and I don't use. I've started on the toys. I'm filing like it's nobody's business.

Watch out people, I'm paring back. I'm getting organised. 2011 is going to be the year of declutter. De-lovely. Delightful!
Image via Apartment Therapy - check out this piece on organising drawers. I need all the help I can get.

It definitely seems to be going around. Today from one room I have extracted two (yes two) wheelie bins of rubbish, five giant bags of op shop stuff and two bags of linen for the flood victims (it is a bit room). My new mantra is space, not stuff. I chose space.

Loving the 2011 organisation.

Good on you! 2010 was the year of decluttering for us and boy, do we feel better for it! The house is so much easier to keep clean and tidy, you always know where things are and your life seems simpler and 'lighter'. Good luck!

Same! We've sorted through our wardrobes, books, movies, cds and have 3 bags of donations. AND for the first time in about a year (possible two) there is no longer "filing" covering the dining table in piles. This decluttering and organising is taking a long time but boy does it feel good. I hope to stay on track as an organised lady this year.

last year i read "the happiness project" and the first thing she did was declutter. she was amazed at the happiness it created within her. i love a good declutter - gives me space to think.

Let me know when you have a garage sale so I can do the "creepy-look-through-all-your-stuff" thing :P Ebay has been highly successful when teamed with the blog. I usually donate it all but I sold a few pieces cos I need the pennies :)

I do love a good de-clutter. Might have to get on that today too. We have a cupboard that you have to hold things in place when you open the door or else everything falls out. Never good. xx

ps. Creepy crockery??!!
