Frocktober 2015: Day 24 - Pink Lady

It was steamy on the weekend - phew! Zoo-wee mama! So it was time to crack out one of my all-time favourite vintage frocks. My pink as a musk stick frock. I love this one.

It does have a matching belt, but do you think I could find it on Saturday morning? Nope. Which is actually fine because I kind of like the mash up with my tan plaited leather belt, the pink and my Converse. Classic.

There's still time to sponsor me, still time to help me raise money for ovarian cancer research.

There's no early detection test. A pap smear won't do. So that's what I'm hustling for.

Pink Things

So last week I promised I'd collate all the good pink things I could find, that you could work into your wardrobe. I failed you last week, but I am not failing this week my friends.

Just in case you can't walk around in a beautiful pink explosion - here I am.

Get some pink in your... sink?

No. That doesn't work.

Get some pink, darlink. Yes. That will do.

1. Naomi Murrell Calypso dress $260: The perfect Christmas day dress. Or any day dress. I just love those layers of ruffles in that muted pink. Sigh. And then swoon.
2. Ziera Peta in Blush $179.95: Cool and cute for everyday wear, these are also super duper comfortable.
3. McKean Studio San Francisco City Bangle $66: Megan McKean is so super clever, these bangles have been on my wish list since the 18th of Forever
4. Country Road Linear Print Shift Dress $179: I don't know anyone who couldn't love a shift dress, and in the perfect combo of pink and green - yes, I'll take that too.
5. Hobes Boat Hobe in Blush $169: I've been crushing on these for so long. I think they're a great summer shoe - with frocks or pants, they frocking rock.
6. Gorman Lobster Top from The Third Row $149: Ditch the lobster bib, no one looks good in those anyway, and adopt the Lobster top. LOVE!

1. Claire Aristides Hydra Black Agate Statement Ring (was $380) $190: I am madly, madly coveting this ring. And yes, it's largely black, but with that glimmer of pink, I think I might be in love.
2. Fabrik Bathing shoe in Pastel Peach $54.95: These are totally what I want/need/have to have for Summer.
3. Angus & Celeste Rosewood Ply Necklace $79: Just want a hint of pink? Aye aye aye! This necklace is pretty gorgeous.

If you can't find something pretty and pink in this group - well I just don't know what can help you.

Have you seen any pretty pinks lately?

Pinks

Today I went with one of my favourite friends, Emilie,  to Bread & Circus. If you haven't already been there, the styling, palette and interiors are enough to make it a treat - let alone the food. Amazing.

Em and I talked about the pinks. From the cups through to the plates, to the tiles, the menus. Everything is pink. It might sound like Barbie vomited everywhere, but you are so, so wrong. So wrong. It's just perfectly perfect.

It got me thinking why this pink interior resonates so much.

Pink represents compassion, nurturing and love. It also makes me think of my childhood, when colour was so pivotal, and I couldn't get enough of this candy shade.

Which makes me think about how I can work this into my wardrobe. Next post - best of the pinks. I'm going to go internet shopping and share my finds.

Are you loving pink?

Day 15:: Frocktober - Pinkalicious

Today is a great day!

Today is our wedding anniversary!

To celebrate this auspicious day, I've gone back to my roots. Vintage, pink, a little bit boho delicious. I do love this frock like crazy.

It's Laura Ingalls meets Barbara Cartland.

Maybe you'd like to sponsor me? If so, head here! All money goes to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation to help kick cancer to the kerb.

Dress: Vintage
Belt: No brainer! It's Mum's!
Shoes: Country Road (again, they fit my big feet, what can I say)
Earrings: Vintage

Favourite Fabrics: Day Three - There's No Slowing Me

a nice piece of Japanese fabric - bold, bright, what's not to love?
birdseed. super cute.
from l to r: some dots i love, Japanese eiffel towers in the palest pink; a graphic print i coveted for ages from afar; ladybirds and dots. love. love. oh sweet love.

Today it's expected to be 33 degrees. While I thought we were in the gentle lulls of Spring, frolicking through the garden, picking flowers, smelling the wisteria, and crafting with the feel of grass underfoot, I've since learnt, today it's not to be. I'm battoning down the hatches. It's a stinker already and it's not even 10am. I've got the washing on the line, the ducks are watered, I've done my outdoor jobs for the day and I'm indoors until the evening. Except for a mad dash to check whether the postman has been.

So here's day three of sharing my favourites from my fabric stash (which is being posted by Mikes). For the past two days I've been going into some kind of pinkie paradiso, but today, you get a reprieve. I've tried to avoid pink altogether (though it's not possible, is it?).
