The Big News
Hold your horses. I have big, BIG news.
Not only did we recently purchase a new fridge - but today I bought a new washing machine. I know. Hold the presses. I have gone whitegoods mad.
But that's not the big news.
Nope.
You know how I have been decluttering? Well. I have. My Mum, my awesome, awesome Mum came down for the weekend to help me - and I've been listing stuff on eBay.
As a result, I listed my Olivetti typewriter (remember that post), and sold it last night.
Stop what you're doing. The drinks are on me. It went for $5.50.
I know. Right? Totes loaded.
It is for this reason I will be doing a sponsored post. Gotz to pay my bills ladies. I hate bills. Even worse, I hate not being able to pay bills. I knew you'd understand. MWAH!

Selling Stuff
So my in-laws have sold their house. Which is good. And it's also a shame. Because we had a whole bunch of stuffIdidn'teverwanttogothrough sitting over there.
And have I ever mentioned we now live in the smallest house in the world? Shoebox size.
So now all the stuffIdidn'teverwanttogothrough is sitting on our verandah. In our living room. Under our house.
I am waiting for Hoarders to come a-knocking.
While I am waiting for them, I am half going through things, half avoiding going through things.
I feel like I am drowning in my crap.
So I've decided to list things on eBay. Like an old Olivetti typewriter. Someone might want that, right?!
Which brings me to my next quandary. Baby clothes. I've kept them, in the hope we will have another baby. But.. Well.. Who knows if that is going to happen. So now we are living in a swamp of baby clothes.
What to do people?
I want non-hoarders to tell me what to do with all these darn baby clothes - besides cry into their tiny-ness and mourn that my children grew up quicker than I can eat a block of Cadbury Marvellous Creations chocolate (which BTW - I just inhale - and BOOM it is gone).
PS - I know it's upside down. I am too tired. Too Gone with the wind to be bothered to fix it. Just turn your computer screen upside down. Or your head.

eBay: A Fashion Wonderland
This is a sponsored post
Once upon a time I was a devout eBay shopper. I regularly stayed up past my bedtime to get my winning bid in on whatever my heart desired at that time. In some cases it induced heart palpitation and great excitement - nothing beats those last minute bidding frenzies, let me assure you.
One time (not at band camp) I remember driving like a crazy lady to get home to bid on something once, and the front gate of my house wouldn't open - I had to call my sister to shout down the line - "QUICK!!! Bid on this for me!" Clearly this pre-dates Smartphones, otherwise I could have just put in a winning bid from the front of my house, sitting in the car. For the record, I wound up getting online to win that sucker! It was a great win too. Bidding frenzies are akin to a good cardio work out. You can definitely work up a sweat.
I've bought lots and sold lots on eBay - it would be fair to say I am a big eBay fan. From vintage clothes to furniture right through to books and toys I have been there. I am a big nerd and pride myself on my impeccable rating (100% - gold star, top of the class to ME!).
However - it's been a long time between bids.
Now I'm delighted to discover that eBay launched The Fashion Gallery back in October. I'm back in the eBay saddle! Yeehaaw! What makes this revelation even cooler? Model/blogger, (one of Net-a-Porter's top 10 style bloggers) Candice Lake is their ambassador. Man I love that girl's style - she has such a keen eye.
The Fashion Gallery is like a virtual department store of over 30 brands (including Fleur Wood, Witchery, Lisa Ho, Marcs, Seduce etc) - where you can search by brand, clothing item and price. Et voila! Better than rifling through a rack looking for something to fit. I have literally spent a number of hours trawling this site shopping because it is supremely searchable.
Plus there's an ace range of great deals to be had (including new stock). Already the Fashion Gallery is selling a fashion item every 8 seconds and a dress every minute. Isn't that cray?!
Check out Candice's Fashion Gallery Pinterest here. Get yourself a-shopping at eBay's Fashion Gallery here.
Did you know?
- 85% of all fashion sales on eBay.com.au are for new clothes, shoes + accessories
- 83% of items available on the eBay.com.au site are new
- An item is purchased every 4 seconds in Australia through eBay mobile apps (clearly I needed this all those years ago)

Get Yer Skates On

Well right this very second the clock is ticking down on the eBay auctions. You can own a piece of The Uniform Project for yourself (well an accessory anyway), while all the money raised goes to the Akanksha Fund. You can help put a child into school.
Auctions are currently ludicrously low for some pieces. I know your crafty minxes would LOVE this one.

Half-Written Posts

I have about four half-written posts from the weekend that I just haven't completed due to lack of photos or lack of mojo.
I've been madly listing random 'stuff' on eBay such as vintage doilies, clothes, books, and whatever else I don't want hanging about the house anymore. Nothing is safe anymore. Enough is enough people, and I can no longer live surrounded by my clutter. It's almost to the point we have to swim through vintage stuff just to move from one room to another, and given Tiny can't swim yet, well eBay it is.
Here's something I've been working on. A wee bit of stitching. We've also watched this over the weekend. Charlotte Gainsbourg, oh how I adore thee.

Be Very Careful What You Wish For

The other day, when it was super chilly, I twittered about my lust for not only an ugg boot, but an ugg suit. Now friends, take this as a warning. Be very careful what you wish for.
I didn't verbalise this to anyone in my family. I did google it, but apparently no one makes ugg suits. But imagine how warm you'd be - however unsightly you may be. You might even look like a troll that skinned a sheep. How apt!
Anyhoo, my FIL brought me in something - very excitedly last week. A sheepskin jacket. My wordy, it weighs a ton. It's pretty darn cool, though I can't imagine I would wear it without 'baaing' at passers-by. But here it is. In all its glory. I think I might sell it on eBay (fear not, I have in-law permission). Or maybe I can start looking for the matching pants.

Magical March: Day 16

Do you feel as though I am copping out, and anything that happens in my day is magical now to fit into my Magical March? Yes. Me too. But you're going to have to deal with it, awright, because for now these small things are going to have to make do for being magical. Magical or non.
When the Doctor returns from pre-school today he's totes going to be stoked because he and I have been on a man-hunt searching high and low for vintage Fisher Price Little People. We drove all around our neighbourhood last Saturday searching, searching - there were NO GARAGE SALES within a 10km radius (ok, ok we didn't really trawl that far), so we wound up three suburbs over. lThis garage sale, though highly organised, did not do it for the Doctor. There was not one skerrick of children's paraphernalia. Bummer dudes.
With my hands thrown skywards I went global. If only I could just pop on to my private jet, but nope, eBay it was. And eBay is where we scored the fruits of our search.
Guess what arrived in the post today?
Like I said, the Doctor is totes going to be stoked.

The Bowerbird and The Vegemite
mmm. nice dust. please note inspiration board in background - blank. obviously missing some inspiration, aren't i?Today my son proclaimed he likes Vegemite more than he likes me. That's tender, isn't it? I mean, at school, I had (and enjoyed) Vegemite sandwiches every day (at my request). I like Vegemite but really it doesn't have anything on my mum.
Maybe boys are different.
I've had a busy day (who doesn't), swimming with Miss Trunchbowl blasting the boys to get in the water (what a treat on a wintery cool day), then zapping off to a meeting. But now I am back in the bower. I am the bird in my bower. Tweet tweet.
It's a quiet this afternoon, except for the occasional buzz of a far off chainsaw, and the quiet chatter of my own train driver directing trains around the track.

Here's one of my newest additions to my bower, via my good friend eBay, welcome Salty & Peppy. A bit worse for wear - but they're cute, aren't they? Try to tell me they're not!
Day 12: Walking:
I completed Day 12 of my walking yesterday. I took the kiddlies off to meet their Daddy at the train station, as well as pop into the post office and rid myself of some clothes I had sold on eBay (Poof! Be gone). Today it's bleak, but we're hoping to hot foot it down that way again. And I might just scatter my seeds while I'm out there (not to be confused with sowing my wild oats). If you're a keen bean pop over to Meet Me At Mikes and hook yourself up with some walking love too.

Pottering About
I'm trying to tie up a few loose ends these days. Stuff I've been putting off for eons. Like tidying and organising kids rooms. It's a never-ending task really. Well a baby room is not so bad, they can't mess things up too much. But a three year old? A three year old has the capacity to discover a pile of 'new' old things and spread them out and then some.So today I did part of my little man's room. Guiltily I must admit I did it when he wanted to play trains, and I was avoiding those clickety-clack tracks like the plague. So what did I do, I threw myself into another activity I abhor, and tidied.
Here's proof.
I know it's nothing ground-breaking, but at least I am finally being accountable.
Ages ago I vowed I was going to get rid of one bag of stuff per day. That was probably a month ago, so roughly thirty bags of stuff and things. Have you seen one of those bags? No... I was also going to resume my yo-yo project. How is that going you might ask? (or maybe you won't). Well, I haven't done a darn stitch.
So this is me being accountable.
I've also been listing things on Ebay again. Some Rykiel pants. Some vintage bits and pieces. I'll be slowly adding to my listings over the next few weeks. Since we might be moving soon (you hear me Universe??), I thought it was as good at time as ever to resume culling.

Things Are Heating Up

Who knew Ebay could be so excited or addictive? Well I knew it was both of those, but as a virgin seller, it's pretty thrilling to watch the bidding war over your goodies.
I'm selling a mix of things - vintage ladies and men's, some old Zimmermann, some old TopShop maternity, all hard to part with, but there's only so many clothes you can live with before your house becomes one big walk in wardrobe.
Look me up - I'm listed as lexlou79.
