On The Lust List:: Ziera Heels

I am always on the hunt for a good pair of heels. They are like some kind of Holy Grail. I've got one really great pair of neutral heels, but desperately need some more. 

Happily I think I've found them. I walked through a showing of Ziera's new collection of shoes for Summer, and have added some heels to my lust list. My covet list. My must-have list. 

Comfort fused with style, these have definitely got a place in my wardrobe.

Here's three of my favourites:

Pearl - $239 - Love the adjustable straps, the shape and the colour that draws inspiration from the spice market. These will work perfectly with jeans or floaty dresses - for work or play, and this design will work well with my narrow foot.

Paris - $239 This spotted mule has totally stolen my heart. I adore it! Like in ridiculous amounts. I can see these becoming firm favourites, the ponyskin adding an even cooler vibe. My goodness. I love them!

Coveting:: Lululemon

So I came out and confessed: I've been exercising. And ever since then, exercise gear is my secret ogling business. 

My sister has switched me on to the delights of Lululemon. Swoon!

As we're coming into Winter, and when I get up, it's dark. Not just medium dark, it's pitch dark. Which, unfortunately for me, has resulted in me wearing my pants inside out. Stay classy Lexi! 

But as well as dark, it's getting a little chilly in the morning, and sometimes it's raining. I know. Poor me!

Lo and behold THIS!

 Oh yes, very nice. 

And what?! WHAT?!!!! 

 BEHOLD! It has a place for my ponytail. It must be love. Love. Love. 

And pockets. With a zip. Do you know how I feel about pockets? I love pockets! I want pockets on everything. 

All of that - and the print reminds me of being in biology at high school, and looking through microscopes at gems. I won't tell you about how my friend Matt put a mouldy petri dish in my lunchbox and I completely flipped my lid.

What do you wear to bed? 

Well excuse me for this imposing question - but I wear daggy pyjama pants, a t-shirt (sometimes one of Matt's), and let me tell you - I am not about to get nominated for any after hours style awards.

And then I spied this. Swoon. Silk and lace luxe. 

And this. Silk jersey. A nice graduation from my regular cotton jersey, right?

Let it be said: Matt wouldn't know himself. Or me. 

And if I thought the silk was a bit of a stretch, well anything confetti suits me.

Holy guacamole. Not since forever have I coveted a pair of shoes. Being endowed with rather generously long and ridiculously narrow feet, I can confidently say - I'm not a woman that loves shoe shopping.

Blogtoberfest Day 30: And The Bad News Is...

For days you have probably been wondering what the bad news is. Tossing and turning in bed late at night, racking your brain, what could possibly be the bad news PMM is going to spring on her readers?

Well here it is. I didn't have any bad news all those days ago. Nothing much exciting to report, no news is good news, you know. But today, the bad news is that I went out to a soiree last night, and now no longer have my favourite sunnies. 'ello Geezers

For a long time I've been a big fan of Chip Chop(this instantly makes me cool by association). Do you know it? If not, you really ought to. It's an uber cute, uber witty Australian label that's cute to boot.

The latest range 'London Calling' draws on all your very favourite geezer phrases. If you're a long time PMM reader, you'll know I love launching myself into geezer speak. Cool. Innit?

But the above design is my long-time love. It reminds me of this boy I went to school with, he was a little crazy. When we were about 9 he told everyone to look out - he knows 'origami'. Yep. Uh huh.

Like A Bike

Amy at Badskirt has been talking a whole lotta bike lately. A while back I mentioned I was gunning for a bike for my 30th. A sweet little cruiser. Though my choice of bike must be practical. I have to dinky the smalls around town too. What about this sweet lady? Look at her curves. Look at those classic lines. With a twist! A twist people. It's in the twist! It's not just a bicycle built for two, it's got two seatbelts in the back! You see that Matt?

Kid Wrangler Required:: Apply Within

For the past few days the Doctor and I have been butting heads like two little billy goats. A combination of overtired mama and defiant child. Anyone want to babysit?

So while he's attempting some 'quiet time' I've been trying to write some thank you notes. I love thank you notes. I love writing them. I love receiving them. And I love great letterpress. Boring I know, but I'm not a NYE junkie. Though five years ago tonight is when Matt and I met at a party. Ahhh yes. The night I forgot his name at least a dozen times, and introduced him to everyone (who he already knew) as my husband - and subsequently forgot his name again. Now how's that for sozzled psychic powers?

A Really Big Crush

I've been looking for a mobile for over six months. Six months is a long time to be looking at mobiles. It's been like the summer of discontent as I searched high and low for 'the one'. Everything I've come across seems a bit twee. There are some beautiful ones out there, but none of them felt 'right'. There was no long-term commitment from me, so I'd flirt online, and then just dump them as quickly.

Until now. I do believe I've found 'the one' I can commit to.

Called 'Blossom' it's made by Nina Still of Puka Puka Design. Nina has trained as an architect and a jeweller (hence those gorgeous lines), she's Australian based too which is even better.

Drawing on inspiration from her journeys around the South-eastern coast of Australia, she's influenced by the landscape (check out

her blog - some great shots of her travels), collecting found objects and making sketches to put together the initial prototype. They're such beautiful creations that remind me a bit of Alexander Calder - beautiful.

Pink Elephant in the Room - A Week of Pillowcases

Continuing on from my week-long public declaration of love for vintage pillowcases (as part of Kootoyoo's project at Meet Me At Mikes - check out more pillowcase goodness over here) here's a few more from my collection..

Today - children's pillowcases.. Both from the pile I had long forgotten.

The pink elephant is pretty cute. I think it will wind up in Scouty's bedroom in some way or another.

Remember when you were small and you used to pore over little prints? I used to spend hours staring at picture books, creating small dialogues, embellishing their stories. There were a few books that were particular favourites, but I also created these dialogues with imagery on sheets, crockery, and even cutlery... Remember having your favourite fork that starred a little cat or puppy? It was imperative for supreme dining experience to have that particular fork!

One of my sisters had yellow Holly Hobbie sheets. My other sister, when she was a little older had these peach satin sheets. Gosh I remember being so envious. When she moved out, I always tried to get these sheets for my bed. The experience of sleeping on them was not as good as the fantasy. I thought I'd feel like a princess. Instead I'd just slide straight out of bed. Hmph.

The other pillowcase features squirrels, rabbits and bears (and I think some raccoon sort of creature).

And I know it's not strictly a pillowcase (it could be with some reworking) but I had to share this cute bassinet sheet featuring baby deers. A sort of Bambi tribute.

There are a few more pillowcases to share, so I'll continue on into the weekend to make up for my absence from the start of the week.

A Week of Pillowcases..

Sweet pillowcases, take me to sleep and off to dream.

Kootoyoo is hosting a week of beautiful pillowcases over at Pip's.

These ones were from some random thrifting around the traps. They're in great condition, I've not actually used them because.. Well to be honest, I forgot I had a whole stash of pillowcases, and just found them last night! It was like stumbling across Aladdin's cave..

These are also from the same stash.. A real delight to go through them all again. The vague smell of mothballs. Hmmm. These ones are a bit more loved, the lilac in particular. The threads are softened almost to disintegration.

Re-discovering these beauties was like re-living the quiet thrill of thrifting. My own dialogue running in my head, wondering who used to sleep on them, what those people dreamt of, whether they had breakfast in bed, if they listened to the bird songs in the morning, watched the sun spread across the patch of lawn at the back... Whether they had children that crawled all over them in the early hours, as an unsaid good morning. Small bodies wedged between theirs and their lovers. That's what I wonder.

Pretty Pillowcases - A Whole Week of Them!

Drawing inspiration from Kootoyoo's week of pillowcases being hosted by Pip... I'm a late starter but here I am with some of my collection..

I love trawling my local op-shops for pre-loved pillowcases. I'm a mad keen hunter, and I'm always looking to add to my ever-growing collection.

The way pre-loved pillowcases are already worn and soft.. Perfect for beauty sleep. Perfect for day-dreaming, lying in bed (on those rare days when you can sneak in a few extra minutes snuggled up)...

This first pair were from my sister, Sheridan p/cases in immaculate condition. In fact, if I remember correctly they still had their tags on them! I LOVE using these babies.

This next couple were a lucky find. An old couple across the road were selling a lot of things as they were sadly moving to a nursing home. Their family were selling all these beautiful bits and bobs, such as the purple/blue pillowcases.. Later on I saw they had thrown a great crochet rug into a skip. It was raining and I meant to return to save it, but alas, the skip had been removed and the rug had been taken away.. Luckily I did buy these pillowcases and treasure them.

The white pillowcase was bought from a fab shop that was in Lilyfield - Frou Frou, run by the even more fab Parisa. Unfortunately she moved up to the Blue Mountains (their gain!), but I have such fond memories of her shop.. And the subsequent heart flutters it made me have!

Pretty Things!

Recently I made a great purchase. A really great purchase.

It's something that I admire each and every day, and I know is going to be a favourite for my baby girl as she grows up.

I've had a bit of an Etsy addiction for a couple of years, and bought some great things from sellers on there, from all around the world. It's amazing to think how many talented people there are in this world!

But this one, this one is definitely one of my very, very favourite purchases.

Tactile and very pleasing to the eye, each time I look at it, there's something new that catches my attention.

onegirl is one very clever lady!

Just look at that. Beautiful!

Now I am just waiting for someone to have a baby girl so I can give them one too!

A Bit Of A Crush

Noah's birthday is coming up soon.. I am brainstorming and have to admit, I have a wee crush on this from Arthur's Circus.

Well, it's more than a wee crush. I keep logging on to check it out.
